Re: Kristen
It's going.... 3/14 days done!! omg, that's not enough. lol
About half the time when we talk, it's her whining about how her family hates her, betrays her, etc. It's so negative and awkward! I mean, her siblings probably dont talk to her much because she's a mess and they don't want to loan her money. I don't blame them!! Not to mention, it really brings down the mood in the house when I'm trying to be happy and enjoy my new baby!
She loves telling me that I should let Margot cry because that's the only exercise she gets and it's good for her. WTF?! She also loves telling me that my baby can't be hungry yet.... when she's clearly doing her hungry cry and trying to eat her shoulder. Then she told me she doesn't think Margot is sensitive to dairy. Okay, well let me go ahead and eat it then because you haven't been around for 5 weeks and you "think" she's not. It's probably just because it's not convenient for her. My goodness lady, just let me take care of MY baby!!
The night before last was an absolute disaster!! I went to bed at 10 pm. At midnight, I started hearing her scream out in her sleep... and I mean scream! Loudly!! It went on for 2 hours and it was the most bizarre stuff, like "liars, you're all liars" "theyre killing me with knives" "I hate you." and other things along those lines and some jumbled stuff I couldn't make out. So, by the time she stopped at 2 am, there was no point in going to sleep since the baby was going to wake up soon. So, after getting the baby back down at 4, I went back to bed and then she started snoring. I got about 2.5-3 hrs of sleep. It's pretty bad when my baby lets me sleep more than my MIL.
She has been going far away to smoke, which is good, but her room smells like a yankee candle store. Little went in there once for 5 minutes and he has smelled like a yankee candle ever since. poor dog! Oh and she has every surface in that room covered with her clutter. I can't believe she brought all of that on a plane!! I guess I should be happy that she's keeping it in the guest room though.
So, anyways, that's the update. I thought about going to my Moms and leaving her here, but I just don't trust her in my house alone and I don't want her thinking it's okay for her to be here without us.
So, let the countdown continue.....
On a positive note, DH is getting a tour of housing, grocery stores, communities, vets, medical facilities, etc for a few days with the relocation company. I was supposed to be on this trip, but obviously couldn't go. Anyhow, they showed him some apartments in the ritz carlton that he said were really nice and we would get to use all of the hotel amenities. They also have a medical facility on site, an international grocery store on site, expat play dates, etc. My only concern would be living there with Little vs a villa with a yard. Sounds like a good option though and he still has quite a few others to see, including some villas.
Wow, sorry that got so long! Thanks for asking though
It feels good to vent about it!
I guess the room smelling like candles is better than smoke and I'm glad she's going far away from the house to do it. However, I really really really hope these next 11 days go quickly. It's bad enough to have a MIL that "knows best" but add to that all her family drama, smoking, and unusual sleep habits...wow!
I think you desreve the Ritz after your MIL visit! ha! If you stayed there would it just be a normal hotel room or is it more like a suite? I think little would be ok in a suite but taking her to go potty all the time would get annoying. Maybe the bellhop can do that for you? lol
Will you be selling your house in Florida? What are MIL's plans for after her visit? Will she go back to her "job"?
I'm hoping you survive and don't feel bad if you need to go shopping for a few hours by yourself. I know it's hard to trust MIL at your house but it might be worth it for the sake of your sanity!

We're keeping the house and Disney will pay for our accommodations in China as well as a driver, trips home, etc. We have a lot of things we can negotiate into the relocation, but they will take good care of us.
MIL is going back to NC for her "job", but other than that, I'm not sure what her plans are.
