Question for moms

Did your child show any symptoms with an ear infection? Luke has spiked a fever the last two nights (101.7 and 101.9) and slept almost all day (straight through) at the sitters house today. She mentioned today that he may have an ear infection based on the low temps and the sleeping today. He isn't fussy, but is calmer than normal.

B never did outside of a fever when he was smaller. A he got older he would have a runny nose with it.

Some kids don't. One of the kiddos in my class had an ear infection last week that we wouldn't have caught except for the low-grade fever he was running.

A didn't show any signs of being sick when she had her ear infection, not even a fever. She just acted a little off, like she wanted to be held more than usual.

Some of the kids I worked with would show signs immediately, like pulling and hitting their ears, but others, like my current charge and my best friend's 4 year old didn't show anything. Both of them just got over double ear infections and we would've never known if it weren't for low fevers.

Jonathan had several over the winter, and it began with very few symptoms that i noticed. He was just a bit clingy and tired. It wasn't until he spiked a fever that I paid attention to it. After that, he developed cold symptoms, but Jeffery had a cold at the same time.

I think it also can depend on the strain of bacteria they have. I would have a doc check it out just to be safe.

Trevor has had 4 before tubes. He may get a slight temp, close 100, but nothing high. It is hard to tell because he is so happy. He liked to play with his ears as well.
