We have an uncommon religious similarity! I don't normally hear of people in a similar situation to me. Actually, both my husband and I do.

My father was going to be a Christian Brother, and if he hadn't chosen a teaching order, he likely would have taken his vows. But, he left the Brothers, ended up marrying my mom, and here I am! :)

My MIL was a Nun. She left the order and married FIL.

And, both DH and I cantor(ed) at church. I'm on a "sabbatical" until my kids are old enough to handle Mom not being in the pew with them during mass. I miss it. But, I've become the kids' choir "mom" despite my daughter being too young to sing with them (although the choir kids all adore Shannon and swarm before and after mass) who keeps them in line and gets them to really sing out. All it takes is a single look from me and they straighten up and sing the way the choir director wants them to! :)

  • I'm totally butting in, but I was just going to page you Amy!

First of all, I WISH I was telling you all that I was pregnant ;) I'm still nursing and no AF yet so that probably won't be for a while :(

Secondly, now I can't stop thinking about looking crooked in my family pictures (which I am super excited for)!! LOL

Okay I'll get out of Alicia's post now :)

  • No need to vacate the post, Sarah!

  • Too funny!!  (Both of you :) )  I think all of that Catholicism turned me off to it as an adult.  I never missed ONE day of church school until I was confirmed, church every week etc.  Now we haven't even baptised the kids!!  Embarrassed
