growth ultrasounds accuracy?

I know there can be up to a whole pound difference in the estimated weight of a baby and the actual weight during a growth ultrasound...

Just wondering how many of you had one and how far off or accurate it was for you.

My munchkin "weighed in" at 6lbs 13oz today, with a month left to grow... Indifferent Depending on how well my blood sugars can be controlled in this last month, they predict he'll be 8 to 9lbs.

Marcus was estimated at 3 days past my due date at 8lbs 13oz and was born a week past due date at 9lbs 4 oz. I like a nice big baby

James was 7 lb 5.5 oz at birth, 20" long. I had an u/s a week or less before go time and she thought he looked around 9 lbs or something. My OB laughed and said there was no way the baby in there was that big. He wasn't!

They figured Caroline was about 7 lbs. She was born a week later (5 weeks early) at 6lbs 15oz. At her due date she had a Dr appt and she weighed 7lbs 9oz. Dr said it would have been around the same had she stayed inside for a little while longer.

They said the boys were each around 6lbs but they were 5lbs8oz and 5lbs3oz

I had a growth ultrasound with Grace at 38 weeks, they estimated her at 5lbs 13oz and 3 days later she was born and weighed exactly that.

I never had a growth ultrasound but I did have the super scientific method of the OB putting her hands on my belly while I was in labor and saying "I think 7 and a half pounds." I said "I think six and a half pounds." DD was born at 6 lbs. 2 oz.

Jake was estimated to be 9 lbs 15 oz at 41 weeks, and he was actually 9 lbs 4 oz. Katie was estimated at 8 lbs 14 oz at 38 weeks, and she was 8 lbs on the dot at 38 weeks 5 days. So I guess both were within a pound, but were over - hoping the same for you!

DD was born at 41w3d and weighed 7lb 10oz. At 38 weeks she measured 7lbs 7oz. She she only "gained" 3 oz in 3.5 weeks.

I didn't have a growth u/s but the weeks leading up to my due date and even when I went in in labor they kept telling me she was big, "at least 9 lbs" - she was 8 lbs 2 oz

From what I hear they're very commonly off, but I personally don't consider 8-9 lbs a big baby :P Everyone in both our families have had babies around that size!

The Monday before Felix was born, they thought he was looking 9+ pounds. My belly was huge, so it seemed to make sense. But, he only weighed 7.10 when he was born.

I'd go with the u/s over the belly feel based on my experience. Based on belly feels 4 or 5 days before birth, Owen was estimated to be in the mid-to-high 8s. He was 10 lb. 10 oz. Ellie, on the other hand, was estimated to be 7 lb. 2 oz. on 2/7 based on an ultrasound, and was born on 2/19 weighing 7 lb. 11 oz.

A week before the boys came they were estimated at 5.2 & 5.8. When they were born they were 4lbs 15 oz and 6lbs 2oz.

The day before Eli was born I had an ultrasound (as part of NST b/c I was 4 days late) and they estimated he was 9lbs 8oz. He was actually 8lbs 15oz.
