Re: Jax - how was your bday evening?

  • Hehehe I love it!!

Well, dinner was really good! I'll cut to the chase since I know what you're looking for ;-)

We started dinner with a fontina fondue with garlic and croutons and then a dish of fried artichokes served with a red pepper aioli over greens. YUM!!!

Justin got Tagliatelle pasta with braised short ribs in a cantal cheese fondue sauce...holy hell it was amazing...

I got steak frites, because I am 90% of the time a carnivore these days. So it came with this butter d'hotel (which is a fancy French way of saying we're going to put 3 tablespoons of seasoned butter on your steak)...I should have gotten it on the side. Even with taking it off, the steak was very good! The fries were yummy, and it also came with a roasted tomato/watercress salad (which I LOVE right now...it was a treat on my plate!)

They brought us a bittersweet chocolate lava cake for dessert w/ a homemade whipped cream. It was DELICIOUS. That made my sweet count for yesterday the following: Huge ass piece of cake at work (like the BJs kind with the sugary frosting...baby was kicking after that....), a chocolate coconut donut (um.... I was getting an iced mocha and it was staring at me...)and then the cake after dinner.

Oh, and I had 1/2 a glass of pinot noir. It was delicious.

So I am going to drink a ton of water today because the meal was uber rich and salty!
