Re: Top Chef (spoilers potentially)
I just finished it and yelled "YAYYYYYYYY!" I thought he was a shoe-in his season and am so glad he didn't blow it this time around. Well deserved. I'm impressed Mike Isabella did as well as he did, but relieved he didn't win; Blais would have probably taken his own life. I never really thought Mike was that strong of a chef, but maybe it was because his season was so tough with the Voltaggio brothers, Kevin, and Jen Carroll, that he looked crappy in comparison.
lol -- we just finished watching it, too, and the first thing I said to MH was "They just saved that guy years of therapy".
For once, I didn't have a strong feeling about who should win. Isabella really came into his own this season (with the exception of the questionable recipe stealing), so it at least seemed deserved. That said, Blaise has been consistently good FOREVER, so I'm happier that he won.
I am soooooo happy, it's not even funny! I adore Blais, and was thrilled to see him step away from his usual use of science and what not and strip down to just creating amazing food. Something about Mike has never sat right with me, especially the ribbing and underhanded smack talk he would give out in the stew room when Blias was clearly on the brink of losing his mind. I was really happy that he got Antonia on his team as well, since you know no one wanted to beat Mike more than her!
Not going to lie, totally started to cry when he broke down after he was announced Top Chef- I'm blaming it on the pregnancy hormones!

Agreed re: Mike - I did not think he was that great and didn't expect him to go that far this season but his original season was definitely full of very tough competition.
I was SO happy for Blais. I never saw his original season but I liked him this season and have been rooting for him all along, neurotic or not, haha.
Is anyone going to be watching Top Chef Masters? I've never seen it before but would like to watch. M plans to boycott it because I said I like Curtis Stone's accent, lol.
I love Top Chef Masters, so I'll be watching that, too...but I'm waiting for the year that Tom competes.
I was also surprised that Mike made it to the final two- I really thought it would be Antonia and Richard. He certainly did come into his own this season.
I watch Top Chef Masters and I LOVE Curtis Stone
