There was a sweet potato incident in my electric oven last night, and I now have burned sugary sweet potato residue to deal with. Any ideas how to get this stuff off? The bottom of the oven has the heating element, so it's not an open space that is easy to get into and scrub. TIA!
Re: Any suggestions?
Oh man, I've done this soooo many times with sweet potatoes, olive oil dripping off the pan before we bought a raised edge one, and so much more, I feel ya on this one!
One of the greatest wedding gifts we got was a non-stick over liner. It's simply placed at the bottom of the oven and if anything else happens to be spilled, you can slip it out, clean it off, and just pop it back in there! It's been a life saver! It's also great because we're renting and don't have to worry about the owner of the house getting upset over a super messy and oil stained oven, haha.
We got ours from our registry at Bed Bath & Beyond if you wanna check it out, and I'm sure you can find it at similar type stores. I have an oven with a heating element on the bottom too and it doesn't interfere with it all.
Good luck and hope you get to get one of these things, worth every penny!!
