She's texted me several times today to ask if I'm watching the weather, presumably because of the storms. I'm not sure why I would be watching the weather allllllll dang day because of thunderstorms, but whatever.
So the most recent message was 1. ask if I was watching the weather and 2. that we were having tornado warnings (for the entire county, not our specific area). Then she offers this advice:
"Turn off your computer."
Because... operating computers attract tornadoes?

Re: Crazy re: the weather
Oh my. Reminds me of MIL. She flips the eff OUT in bad weather. She calls every time it rains, we're used to it. Our friends in New Orleans (technically friends of DH's dad, but MIL knows them from when they were married) had bad weather (which our friend said it wasn't anything more than a t-storm) a couple months ago. When we went there for the wedding a couple weeks ago, the husband was telling DH how MIL had called him. They haven't talked to each other since our wedding (2.5 years ago....and they hadn't talked since before their divorce before that in 1992.)
MIL: OMG, how are you guys?
Friend: Fiiiiinne...?
MIL: no tornados? the house is ok? is everyone safe?
Friend: Yes? why?....WHO IS this?! lol
So after he finishes his story, his wife goes, "Yeah, weird, we never talk to her....and um, WTF she didn't call us after KATRINA!??"
Yeah, the weather sucks.
But seriously? This is Florida. She should know this by now.
At our house during bad weather we HOPE to lose a few roof shingles so we can get a new one. And DH goes on his drums in the garage.
PS: Computers DO magnetize tordadoes.
You guys laugh, but my DH insists we turn off the computers anytime there's lightning in the area. Of course last night when we had both computers on the power went out and stayed out for hours, so there's no hope of ever changing his mind in the future.
