(If you haven't seen this yet, I take no responsibility for any groaning, WTFing, or getting this song stuck in your head all day!!)
I am sooo happy to have this week done. Other things making me happy: my first-ever attempt at making risotto last night was a huge success, and also...I woke up this morning, got out of bed, and walked PAIN-FREE. First thing in the morning, before meds. I haven't walked without pain in a good month. I'm so happy! I'm going to run 15 miles after work!!
(April fool!! But the pain-free walking is for real!)
Plans for this weekend:
Tonight: swimming at the gym, buffalo chicken meatballs and jalapeno poppers for dinner, relaxing with H, maybe watching a movie
Tomorrow: may hit the gym, miscellaneous errands to run (Dicks sporting goods for a swim cap, Best Buy to try to retrieve files off the hard drive from my old, dead laptop, shaggy hair and eyebrows fixed)....gonna try to talk H into going out and doing something in the evening, not sure what.
Sunday: chilly Reds game!
Re: FRIDAY!!!!
I don't have anything planned tonight, so probably just an easy evening with the H. Maybe in, maybe out - don't know.
I just found out the running group is NOT doing a bridge run tomorrow, so I won't have to knock out 10 miles all on my lonesome. That's AWESOME! - although that means no sleeping later in the morning. Boo.
It's payday, Friday, April Fool's Day and maybe, just maybe, a sunny day. All good in my book. The cherry on top is that my boss is out on vacation - as is the co-irker that breaks my concentration all day long (really - doesn't she know the nest does that for me!). Happiness is boss out.
That's a good idea, although I think I'll remember April 1. I just hope my leg's not playing a joke on me.
I can't wait to tell the PT - they told me the guy I'm going to be seeing from now on works with runners a lot and should be able to help me put together a realistic timeline of when I can try running and how much, but I felt like there was no way to do that when it still hurt to walk. I'm soooo happy now!
I've heard good things about Total Immersion too. I may have to check it out. I've decided to try to keep up the swimming/biking as cross-training even after I can run again.
