Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

I'm just going to stop asking
And worrying. I told my mom about SIL making my shower cake, so my mom said she'd call MIL and offer to chip in with some of the costs like buying the cake from a super great bakery nearby. (Totally her idea, I did not instigate this). She called and MIL said "oh that's ok! SIL is going to make the cake!" Apparently they bought some molds and stuff. She also mentioned how SIL made my birthday cake. Ok, A) it's not like we had a big party and 
they showed up with it Sunday night at 8pm while I was on in my pj's. Not exactly the same thing. But ok, whatever. I will show up, have a good time, eat cake and be happy.
Question for moms who've had showers: were they in line with your nursery theme or just kind of random? MIL is apparently doing a duck theme, which is kind of out of nowhere. For my other shower they're doing our colors and "french" stuff (although I have no clue what that would include!). I guess it'll make it more interesting than having two identical showers though.
Please just tell me to shut up and snap out of it.

Yes, stop worrying. I think you should just let them throw you a party, show up, and enjoy it. Open gifts, eat cake - who cares what it looks like? What matters is how it tastes.
We had two showers. Neither were in our theme (safari) - just blue and baby things.

Ali-Stop worrying and just enjoy the day! The last thing you will need to your water breaking over stressing about your cake or theme.
My shower didn't have a theme at all. They just had pretty flowers. My mom did have all food dishes that I liked, but had nothing in regards to my nursery theme. I think sometimes girl showers a little more themed vs boy showers, since females love to go all pinked out.
