I'm just excited for the cake!!!

Don't get me wrong, I am really excited about our first anniversary and going out to eat and the whole 9...but...I'm SO pumped for the cake! I hope it is still good! The tips I have read on the internet say to leave it in the fridge overnight, then the counter for about 4 hours. Plus, ours is big enough that we each can have a piece Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Yea, buddy!

Re: I'm just excited for the cake!!!

  • We ate the top of our cake (as much as we could) the day after our wedding because our cake baker told us that she would make us a new topper!  Although I kind of wish we had saved the original.  :)

  • I ate mine after we got back from the honeymoon but Im going to see if the baker can remake the top tier for us Smile

  • We ate ours at our 6 month mark, just to be sure it'd be enjoyable since we never froze cake for that long. It was quite good! I'm still unsure of our anniversary plans but we had thought of getting a Tiramisu from Costco come to think of it! Thanks for the reminder!

  • Thanks I was wondering about that!!!

  • We have some cupcakes and our top tier left. But I'm pretty sure we didn't freeze any of them right, so it'll probably be disgusting and ruin the bottle of Dom we plan to drink with them. Oh well it's the experience that counts??
  • Holy shat!  I completely forgot about the cake!  It's at my mom's house someplace...I'll go snooping tomorrow when I'm over there.  :)

  • i'm so excited to eat our cake, we didn't touch a piece of it. I keep meaning to google information on how to defrost it and keep forgetting. I hope it still tastes yummy

  • I can't wait either!  I order ours to be picked up the weekend before since I will be in that area.  Haven't decided when we are eatting it yet though.

  • The cake, yes! We are also having our baker do a new "top layer", which we're picking up the week of our anniversary. We ate our top layer on our HM...we plan to eat it all before we go away, though!!!

Enjoy - I have heard from several people that frozen cake when thawed slowly is very delicious!

  • HAHA.  Ours will defrost while under our airplane seats on our way to Punta Cana.  We have always said it would be hilarious to eat it on the beach...and by golly, we are! :)  May be a bit large to haul around 2 airports, but I think it will be worth it!
  • I'm so curious to see how it tastes...I'm imagining that it will be very dry, but who knows?  This reminds me, I have to get it out of my mom's fridge too!!!!
  • I'm excited to try it - and to get back some of the real estate in my freezer! The venue wrapped it for me and the box is huge!
