DH has a lot of musician friends back in the UK. One of them is a flutist in a London chamber music group. She and DH used to do events and such all the time - both with a group of musicians and just as a duo. I think she had a crush on him . . .
Anyhow. She just called him because she heard he was going to be back in England in a few weeks (going back to visit family) and OMG!! She asked him if he was available on the 29th for a gig!!

Apparently the reception is going to take place in mulitple rooms of Buckingham Palace and they want small groups of musicians in each room for the guests' entertainment. This girl's group was asked and then she asked DH if he could join them!!!!
So my amazing husband is going to be at the Royal Wedding!!!!! Ok, not the wedding proper, but the reception - which is even better because it is more exclusive. He'll be "working" but still - he'll be there!!!
Lord - I'm shaking - I am so shocked and excited and jealous and proud!! DH is freaking out a bit - he generally doesn't like the royals and all the fuss surrouding them, but how could he pass this up?!? Now he just need to figure out tux stuff (rental?) and how to get his guitar back to England and of course, practicing all the music . . . ahhhh, it is going to be crazy for the next few weeks!!

Yes, this is/was an April Fools joke. Sorry - I wish it were true.
The hubs is going to be in England during the royal wedding, but as far as I know, he will not be performing. Oh well, their loss!
But my gain - because now I can get up at 5 am and watch the wedding live without causing his eyes to roll to the back of his head.
