Yet another ear infection
Poor A has had ear infections since December and they just will not go away. We have been to the dr every month and sometimes several times a month. We just got back from there now and she has another double infection and got a shot this time and has to go back Monday for possibly another shot.. poor baby. We will have to go to the ENT If they don't clear with this or if she gets another infection right after this.

What did you use instead of the shots? Did it work? We have tried 3 different antibiotics and she did get the shot once in December at the ER because she couldn't keep the amoxicilian (sp) down.
Hound~ so sorry to hear about J. My cousin's boy (I think he is 6 now) had them done 3 times (I think) and then had to have some other surgery. I really don't want to do tubes. We went through enough when she was born, I don't know if I could handle them putting her out when they put the tubes in.
We ended up with just 3 rounds of antibiotics which eventually cleared him until this last time which is when we went to the ENT. We started with amoxicilian, then omincef, and then azithromiacin. My pedi told me about the shots, but when I asked her opinion on them and if she would give them to her kids, she told me no she wouldn't and that made up my mind for me. We are actually worried right now because TJ was supposed to have his 1 year well check(a bit late lol) on friday but he ended up having a rash on his face and when she looked in his right ear, she said it was red and puffy inside. She said that if she didn't know there was a tube in there, she would say he had an ear infection. i'm really hoping its just a fluke because I really want these tubes to work the first time! TJ hasn't had anything leaking from his ear but he had extremely thick fluid in there last time, so I'm hoping this isn't the case now.

We been on all of those and the ear infections have been constant since December. We just did a follow up and had another shot because they are not clearing up. They said to come back in a week if she isn't better. I'm just hoping this 2nd round of shots work b/c I really don't want to do the tube thing. The poor little thing is barely eating and is totally not herself. I feel so bad for her. I hope TJ is ok and that it isn't an infection again. DH just keeps saying we need this stupid weather to clear up so everyone can get stop being sick for a little while.
