Today we bought a boat.
I am not crazy about the idea of financing a boat but we are getting one in hopes this will improve our chances for a transfer to FL. My H is in the process of getting his Captains License (which owning your own boat is kind of a must) in hopes to join the Air and Marine department of the Border Patrol. If he gets accepted to the program our odds of getting stationed somewhere in FL dramatically go up!!
So I guess, under this circumstance, financing a boat is ok in my book! Anything to get out of this hell hole!

My H has been looking at boats for a little over a year now. We weren't anticipating on having to finance a boat but he came across his ideal boat but it was a little bit over what we had saved. But after talking about our options, I said what the hell and we took out a small loan. Hopefully we can have the loan paid off by the end of the year!
Buuuutttttt, more importantly, he did 100% fully give me his word that I can get boobs after the second baby. He gets a boat, I get some boobs. Except his boat is used and my boobs better not be. So now we just got to start a boob fund! That and I got to get my asss in shape!

It sounds like a fair trade to me! Actually, I think your husband might be coming out a little ahead on this one.
Well as much as it sucks to not be debt free that is an awesome incentive for getting a boat! Good luck to your H and hope you get back to FL soon!
