To all the moms out there, what type of stroller do you reccomend? Honestly is overwhelming with so many options. We want something light and not too bulky. We are considering the UppaBaby Vista or PhilandTeds Smart Bundle. We definitely want the option to use the stroller with the carseat. That's why I think we won't be using the bassinet (both models come with a bassinet)
Any experiences with any of these strollers? Or do you have any other reccomendation? Thanks!
Re: Strollers
i second the recommendation for a snap n go. i didnt have one initially but later got it and it basically replaced my stroller in the beginning. i dont know why you are anti-bassinet, but i actually wish i had a stroller that has this. DD was born in june and if you are out and about in the summer, the bigger they get, the more cramped they are in the carseat- it even looks hot and uncomfortable. i had the chicco travel system which, imo, was a total waste of money. the car seat was great, but the stroller was a bulky monster and i barely used it. i ended up buying the city mini and i love that. the only down side to it are little storage and everything (think- cup holder, child tray, infant bar) cost extra. that said it folds up easy and small and i think it's great. it also has the best shade i've seen on a stroller. which i didnt think was such a huge deal at first, but my kid hated having the sun in her face when she was little. i never even bought an umbrella stroller b/c with the city mini, you dont have to. i dont have any experience with the 2 strollers you are looking at- but when i was shopping around to replace the travel system stroller i saw a pretty cool phil and teds. it was also a jogging stroller and you could add a "jump seat" for when/ if you have a second child. i think it was the "explorer." hth!
my sister has the uppababy and convinced my cousin to get one as well. (their kids are 5 days apart) Both of them squeak and seem like they arent worth the $600 price tag.
My sister has 3 kids and I figured since she had the skateboard attachment for the middle one maybe all the wear and tear had started to affect it. But my cousin has 1 kid and is quite delicate with everything and hers squeaks all the time also. The bassinet feature is cool but it lasted until month 4 and I have inherited my sisters which is sitting in a bag in my basement.
I would rec the snap n go for the beginning because thats truly all youll need. And the Jeep jog stroller. My sister also has had one for each kid and they have survived the summers at the beach and winters in the snowy mess. She only retires on when the tread wears down so much on the tires.
I have also heard great things about BOB jog strollers but I dont like that the front wheel is locked forward and that they dont fold flat to fit in the trunk.
I have a Chicco travel system. I dont love it or hate it. It is heavy but its afforable and DS thinks its comfy.
I also have a baby trend light weight stroller for quick trips and for traveling. And I had the snap n go for the early months. THAT I loved. It was light and easy to use which is key when you're a frazzled, new, tired mama trying to get your teeny baby out of the car with all their bags and stuff.

Mellie- What do you have? I am looking at double strollers now and debating on side by side, front and back and stackers. They will be 15 months apart so I don't think a standing option (for now) will work. TIA!
Oh no, I'm not anti bassinet. I was just wondering if we'd really need it, since at the beginning people mostly use the carseat and by the time the baby is out of it, he may be too big for a bassinet? I'm total ignorant when it comes to this, so sorry if my questions sound silly.
Thanks all for your recommendations. We decided to use the snap and go. That will give us time to decide about the stroller. Thanks again!
