Cape May help from you local ladies :)

Hello ladies, DH and I got married in Cape May, and this coming May is our 5 year anniversary.  We're going back for a long weekend and were just wondering if you all had any suggestions of "off the beaten path" restaurants or things to do that most tourists wouldn't know about.

We've been there several times, so I'm just trying to find things and places that we may not haven't experienced before.

Thanks for any advice!

  • I've heard nice things about the Doctor's Inn although I haven't been myself.

  • Hey- I don't post often, but I'm from Cape May so I thought I'd give you some recommendations:-)

George's Place- 301 Beach Ave.  Awesome place for breakfast!  It was just featured on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives.

410 Bank Street-  nice place for a romantic dinner.  Pricey, but the food is worth it.

Lucky Bones- It's on the right hand side right when you drive over the Cape May bridge.  They have great brick oven pizza. And they usually have a band there on the weekends.

Peter Shield's Inn- 1301 beach Drive.  This is probably my favorite restaurant.  Also pricey, but the stuffed lobster tail is amazing!

    Hope that helps:-)

  • Thanks ladies, I appreciate it!

Meggie, Lucky Bones is actually one of our fave places to go, but I haven't been to the others!

  • I live in CM as well....and Meggie suggested many of the places i would have! Definitely Georges....but i suggest that you start calling at 5pm to get a reservation the night you go for dinner (if it's busy keep calling back)...and they are cash only...just a heads up.

Oyster Bay is another favorite of ours...along with Peter Shields, Washington Inn, Lucky Bones

Enjoy your stay in town...it truly is a great place!!! :)
