Letter of resignation
Yay, I got a new job!! Sounds like it'll be much better and it's only 12 minutes from my house!!
So now I have to write a letter of resignation. I hate doing things like this. Can anyone help me with some nice wording? Thanks.

I would just keep the letter nice and short. Let them know you are leaving effective X date, provide contact information should they need to send you anything, and thank them.

So do I just hand the letter to my boss? Offer a little explanation when I give it to her? This is going to be awkward.
Depending on the size of your company, I'd have one copy for my boss, and one for the HR department, that may not be necessary - especially if you work in a smaller company.
I'd keep it simple, thank your boss for the growth opportunity, etc. Always go out giving the best impression as possible. A lot of companies will only verify your employment (won't give a good or bad recommendation, because they fear legal action about defamation of character) but people do talk in their work networks - and you want to leave a good impression - for the future.
