I guess my response about babies TOTing didn't come out well. Taking a baby to a few houses for pictures is very different than dragging them through the whole neighborhood, trampling through people's flowers, knocking over their decorations and being verbally rude besides by not saying thank you or b!tching about the type of candy they were given. We even had people try to get candy for kids that we're "at home" or "in the car".
I'm sure that nobody on this board would act like that because we have a lot of great people here. But we had several people that acted just like that on a yearly basis. It was frustrating and took the fun out of my favorite holiday.

Oh okay...makese sense. In our family, it's almost expected that the babies hit up a few neighbor's homes to go trick or treating. To be honest, it's actually just so the neighbors can get some pictures of our kids and get some group hugs:) My Grandma has lived in her neighborhood for over 28 years so these are neighbors would be totally insulted if we didn't bring the kids by.
Oh and can't forget that I need at least 40 pictures of my kids making at least 3 different facial expressions! ha!
Oh you definately have to take the kids to visits friends and family and pics are a must!
We would get close to 500 TOTers at our old house and so we encountered a lot of really rude people. We got a lot of really nice people to, but unfortunately, the bad guys stand out in situations like that.
We live in a much smaller neighborhood now and don't really have a lot of kids on our side of the community. I have a feeling that we won't have much use for the ice or dogtreats this year, other than to give to the dogs that are out with their owners.
