this is why I'm a half-@ssed SAHM
Re: this is why I'm a half-@ssed SAHM
I'm not sure whether I should be impressed or frightened. Maybe both.
This!
Psh... lame. I mean, sure if I were home all the time, I'm sure I'd do some more crafts, but who has freaking time for all this artsy fartsy nonsense. Whatever happened to good old fashioned playdoh and blocks?
Whatever you do, don't Google "Bento Box Lunch Ideas."
you mean your lunches do not look like this on a regular basis?
For realz. That last one made me almost
. Cute, but, who has time to cut up celery like that? I'm lucky if I can make my own turkey sandwich.
These are so over the top, I couldn't get past the first 2 or 3 posts... What are these kids going to think when they get to school and have to do lame projects in art class?
My mom ran a day care out of the other half of our duplex when I was really young. Even they didn't do anything like this!!! Lots of coloring, blocks, and PlayDoh. You, know, the classics.
My Wedding Bio! Not updated in a LONG time!
exactamundo.
This is why you are a kick-@ss SAHM
Because you don't do any of those things.
Crafts for Preschoolers is severely frowned upon by anyone who is anyone (and anyone who is no one) in the world of Early Childhood Education.
The ideal way to serve a preschool child food has been found to be family style and allowing the child to serve themselves, up to limits like 2 scoops or 3 slices. Helps them feel in control of their eating and will lead to better eating habits as an adult.
Also, most believe that "the child is the theme" and themes are inappropriate for young children, so that VHC theme lunch - not cool.
(not to bash anyone on this board who DOES do the above)
My DD is currently coloring the bottom of a box which housed a "real" art project (Melissa & Doug spin art - bit hit!) She said it's Mason's Lemonade Stand. He is sitting next to me in a bouncy seat.
Lunch will be whatever she wants, and a turkey wrap for me. We are all still in pajamas.
I totally suck at the SAHM thing... probably good for them I am heading back to work in a week and a half!
