Boudoir Photos Questions

I'm thinking I may do this for DH for an anniversary present. For those of you that have done them - 2 questions.

1. How much were you charged? I'm looking for a rough price. I live about an hour and 15 mins from the town we got married in (where I grew up) and that is where our wedding photog is at. I know she has done boudoir shoots, I think her prices are reasonable. But it may be hard to get away for a day/weekend to meet with her and do them. I'm looking at some photographers where we live, and it seems REALLY expensive here.

2. What were the details of yours? How many outfits/looks did you do? Where did you do them - at home, in a hotel, etc.

Thanks in advance ladies!

  • OOoh i'm following this. I want to do this. I need to find outfits and photographer. I should probably get on it.

  • I think you should both definitely do it!!!  I did one for DH before the wedding not only did he love it, but it was tons of fun!  I did a marathon session, so it was at a hotel and included the photo session, a 20pg book, hair, and makeup for $450.  I think I wore 3 or 4 different outfits.  It was sooooo much fun!  Let me know if you end up booking one and I will give you more tips :)

Deb, I used Val McCormick.  She was really great!

  • I really want to do b-pics for an anniversary gift for DH too. It's expensive up here at well - I don't know if I can drop $400 on pics. I should probably start looking again. But I don't know where we are going to be! If we do end up moving, I don't want to book pics for June and then we end up moving in May.

  • I think I paid about $200 for my package, but it was a deal... usually it's more like $250-$280 for my photog, but I did it as part of a marathon.  I split the hotel cost with 2 other girls who also were using her... My shoot was in the evening, and theirs was early the next morning (so we split the cost of the room as well).  The price included my photog doing my makeup, and I think somewhere between 5-7 outfits. It was a blast and the pics turned out awesome! There are a few tame pics in my Planning Bio.  My DH loved them, I gave the album to him as his wedding gift :)

I think it's an awesome idea as an anniversary gift, I know a few girls from my local board who did that.

  • Oooo, I have been thinking about doing this as well!  DH would love it :)  I'm really glad to hear that you girls have had good experiences with it so far.  How did you pick outfits to wear?
