We need paint for Ella's room and the living room, curtain rods, and light fixtures. I wouldn't mind picking up electrical outlets/covers too if they are cheap. Does anyone know if the ReStore has some of these items in stock? If not, where would be the best (most affordable) place to stock up?
Do you think it would be cheaper to make or buy curtains. My mom has a sewing machine and serger so we could easily whip something up ourselves. The place we are moving into has a peeping-tom next door so I want curtains up before I move in. ![]()
Also, has anyone seen the Peek-a-Boo Pals (by Kids Line) bedding set recently? We only picked up one valance for Ella's room and she has 2 windows in her room. I'd love to have a 2nd one, but they were clearance items when we purchased at BRU.
Thanks!
Re: Home Improvement Questions
It looks like Amazon has the Peekaboo Pals valance.
As far as curtains, if you're not picky, you could probably find some decent deals on them on Craigslist or at garage sales. I think that or making them yourselves would be comparable, depending on how much you would have to spend on material, etc.
I'm no help with the other stuff.
Yep restore has those things.
I got some curtains for our old house at Walmart of all places but I loved them. They had a nice backing for solar efficiency and really did look like dupani silk. People asked if they were pottery barn all.the.time. When people asked... I couldn't remember.
What color curtains are you looking for? I have floor length black ones that I will sell you for cheap. They are faded from the sun on the side you don't see, but if that is the color you want, I'll give you a good deal
Outlet covers are super cheap. I would check the Restore first, then hit up Walmart. Making curtains isn't hard, but depending on the fabric you want, you could do it fairly inexpensively.
Well you see, when a man loves a woman...
I can't believe it either though!! I'm so excited to meet her!
You are too cute, Mrs Reem! I like the idea of effciency though. I might have to go chek those out!
Mrs. T, black may work. We haven't discussed colors at all yet so let me ask my husband tomorrow and I'll get back to you!
Thanks for the Amazon tip, mishy! I'll have to check it out. A longer curtain behind the valance in one of the coordinating colors would look ok, right? Normally I wouldn't care if the curtains covered the full window or not, but with a neightbor who climbs on AC units...I'm not taking chances!
Yeah, that's really creepy!!
