For some reason the green showed up olive in the pictures.  It wasn't.  It was more like a clover green.

  • I wasn't too fond of it because it wasn't exactly what I asked for, but thanks to Michelle, I LOVED my topper that I lined with crystals myself.

And here's one of us feeding each other...couldn't help myself:

  • Nobody wants my cake.  I guarantee it.

  • I loved my cake- it was from the bakery that made my grandma's wedding cake, they were super accommodating, and they dyed the icing to match my dress, then pearlized it to give it a really nice sheen.  (please also see cake serving set that caused me many fits of OCD during the weeks preceeding the wedding)

Slightly better picture of the DIY topper and the sheen on the cake.

  • It wasn't exactly what Danny and I wanted, but it was close. And everyone at the wedding told us it was beautiful and so unique. (Welcome to Podunk, PA). We were hoping it would be bigger and look more cake-ish than just cupcakes on a tier.

  • We loved our cake and as a bonus it was still just as good a year later when we had the top tier for our first anniversary. I also loved our cake topper since it helped us with subtly working in our Disney/fairytale mini-theme.

  • some of the ribbons ended up a little crooked, but over all, totally loved our cake.  And still tasted fab a year later too!

  • I forgot to PIP before I left for work but I truly doubt anyone would pick my cake anyway. It was kind of crazy looking and based off of Alice in wonderland. PIB.

I loved our cake.  The design was just what we wanted which is surprising since we really never even showed her pictures, she just kind of drew it up and we okayed it.  It was super tasty, sour cream chocolate cake alternated with white chocolate cake and buttercream with fresh raspberries for the layers.  We had it again on our anniversary and it was amazing still which I didn't expect.  Oh man I want some cake!

  • I loved our cake too. I have to be honest that I wasn't super picky about it. I dropped off our cake topper at the bakery and told him to mimic some of the designs on the topper. It ended up beautiful and tasted delicious (marble cake with dark chocolate caramel filling for one layer, vanilla bean cake with white chocolate raspberry filling for the other). Thanks to a good friend who went to culinary school, it was wrapped up perfectly and tasted as good a year later as it did on our wedding day.

  • Wedding caaaaaake~

I wasn't picky about our cake, so we went with the venue's caterer, and it was AMAZING!  4 layers, bottom to top -- chocolate cake with chocolate filling, marble cake with vanilla filling, spice cake with cream cheese filling, and chocolate cake with mocha filling (for us).  PS - Our top layer was still just as good a year later!

The topper was my mom's Swarovski crystal rose, the serving set was a shower present, and who could forget clay MB & Chris!

  • I loved our cake except for the topper, which is probably my fault for telling the florist to do whatever she wanted. (And I LOVED the rest of our flowers, I'm not sure how just the topper went so awry).  It was delicious out of the freezer too :o)

I loved our cake. We were bound to the Inn's bakery of choice, but they actually had some nice designs. I loved how the cake looked, and it was so good. Chocolate cake with buttercream frosting, the same for all three tiers. I don't know if the top tier would have tasted as good a year later, cause that sucker came with us on the honeymoon in a tupperware container.

We actually hired B's neice, who runs her own baking company now, to recreate the top tier for our first anniversary. It was okay. A little dense. And very greasy. That dark oily stuff around the cardboard base? Pure fat. But she was a good kid to give it a shot.

All this talk of cake wants to me to get something from the cake maker tho! Or go buy some Devil Dogs.

Our cake was really delicious. I've rarely enjoyed wedding cakes and was very surprised with ours!

I was a tiny bit disappointed because I had asked them for darker chocolate frosting and this came out a bit lighter than I wanted. But it wasn't anything that I cared enough about to let it affect me.

I'm also really impressed with my ability to make that topper all by myself - in the font we used for our invites. Go me!

  • I usually can't post on these since my phone doesn't PiP, but the cake was one of my favorite parts. It was a yellow cake with strawberry filling (Matt picked the flavors, he's a fan of the classics) and amazing buttercream icing. The left over slices were put in a basket for guests to take home, since we were almost the last out, I took the rest of the slices and ate them at the hotel (I didn't really eat too much dinner). Oh and from the front, the topper looks regular, but from the back the Bride is pinching the Grooms butt. :) you may recall my AW before the wedding I only posted a few times.

This was my siggy picture around our anniversary.

So between this post and MB's cadbury poll I'm jonesin' for some serious sweets.

Ditto. I forgot to do this before work. BUT no one wants my cake anyway, it got dropped and was a big crumbly mess, and so then all the butterflies were misplaced to cover up the cracks. It looked horrible. Tasted pretty good though. It was just white cake with white buttercream frosting.
  • Our cake was yummy. Each layer was a different flavor. I think they were: vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream filling, lemon cake with raspberry filling and chocolate cake with I don't know what filling:)

There wasn't supposed to be a topper on it, but someone threw some flowers up there. Oh well.

The flowers didn't turn out exactly as I had envisioned, but I still liked our cake. It had 3 flavors: traditional white with a vanilla-almond filling, buttercake with strawberry filling (think strawberry shortcake), and chocolate with chocolate mousse filling. I heard it was very good. Only tasted the bite  I had during the cutting. :-( It was still delicious a year later, though.

  • MIL made our cake. She is a cake decorator by trade, so we didn't really have a choice. I liked it a lot, but I wish I could have chosen some different flavors and fillings (they wouldn't travel well after stacking the layers and she drove it up from MD).

    image

We did make up for it by having hundreds of cupcakes of different flavors (also made by MIL).

  • I saw this in one of TK's galleries and loved it.  But the design was from our original theme (nature/leaves) and we never updated it to our newer design.  Oops.  But I still love the top design even if it didn't go with the rest of the wedding stuff.

I loved how it tasted!  One layer was chocolate cake and the other vanilla.  The top had both chocolate and vanilla cake.  The filling for all three layers was strawberry and cream which I loved!  I didn't like how the color was so muted.

this was our head table cake- we did table cakes that looked like this"

    image

We have 5 flavors - traditional wedding cake - white cake with white buttercream. Chocolate with makers mark cream, marble with bravarian cream, lemon with raspberry filling, and white with strawberry filling. We encouraged everyone to get their favorite cake which helped folks mingle. We even brought take home boxes so people could take home cake! It was a hit!

It was absolutely delicious ! It was a chocolate cake with chocolate mocha filling. And, yes, that is Dan Marino on the top of our cake ! ( with wedding Belle from Beauty & the Beast)
