Update on Us

I don't get to post or lurk much anymore, but I wanted to update on my life.

1. We are remodeling our front bathroom!! EEEEEK!!!!!  We bought the tile yesterday, so it is officially on now, no more discussion, full on remodel!  I cannot wait.  The front bathroom is so 1970s.

2. I finally cleaned out the spare room/office, for real.  I did it Friday, realized I had it totally empty, called Jeff at work and told him I had it empty and wasn't moving anything back in until it was painted.  So, he fixed the walls Saturday, they were destroyed from things the previous owners hung on the walls (think huge shelves going all the way around the room).   Then we painted the ceiling, primed and painted yesterday.  I'm thrilled!!!  It looks like a totally different room.  Now I need to buy decor.

3. Davis has been EXTREMELY sucessful with speech therapy and OT.   He is signing and he says a decent amount of words.  I'm very proud of him.

4. Davis' 2nd b-day was awesome!!!!!  I made him Toy Story cake pops, Angi made his awesome Toy Story cake and she even made him some yummy egg free cupcakes.

5. Davis is having a tonsilectomy, he started snoring really bad again.  At first we blew it off because he was so sick in January, but it has just escalated since then.  He was showing signs of apnea again, waking up, restless sleeping, gasping for air at night.  We took him to the ENT last week and he took one look at Davis' throat and said "Whoa!!, those tonsils are gigantic little buddy"  So they have to come out.  He will also check on his adenoids as they can grow back and he is going to do something with the nose bone because his nasal passages are really narrow, which we knew but I think now that Davis is 2 he can have the surgery.

Phew!!!!  I feel like I have so much going on.

Re: Update on Us

  • Jill- I'm so glad that Speech has worked out for Big D!  They work wonders over there huh?  Good luck with the remodel.  I can't wait until we start doing our stuff (at least two more years) and remodel the upstairs office.

I had my tonsils out when I was about 3 or 4 and my dad said he was so worried because he had his out the year before and he was down almost a week.  He said I bounded out of surgery like nothing was wrong and apparently kids can tolerate it much better then adults. :)

  • Yay for the bathroom remodel, successful therapy and birthday party!!  Booo to more issues, though.   Hopefully taking the tonsils out makes a big difference for him!! :)

  • Yay for the bathroom remodel, I'm so jealous.  Hope to start ours this summer...

H1 had the same issue with her tonsils, adenoids and apnea.  Having them out was the best thing for her.  She bounced back within a couple days, and even when she was down she was still feeling better than before the surgery.  Her voice changed, so be aware of that possibility.  And she has slept so well ever since.

  • Wow, busy busy!! Sounds like you have lots of great things happening...remodels are the best! So stressful but so worth it in the end! Sounds like Davis is doing great! Just think about one thing at a time instead of the whole amount....that usually works for me when I'm overwhelmed! :)
