So yea...
My MIL called my mom tonight and told her to go ahead and get a cake, she'd take her up on the offer. I guess SIL is going to make cookies or something out of whatever they got.I don't know why they changed their mind, she didn't tell my mom.
So now I've been given the duty of picking out the cake and designing it, right down to the inscription. My mom said I should just go instead of her doing everything over the phone. I find this pretty comical!

I don't think he said anything. MIL and I briefly talked about it on Friday when she told me my mom called her. I just said "yea, I think she feels bad that she can't help more since she's in FL" and we kind of left it at that. Do you think I should do a pink cake, or should I do one with ducks since that's the theme she's doing (even though I'm not supposed to know about it?)?
Funny side story: I had a dream this morning that I was at a bakery where you picked out your cake and then got to decorate it yourself there. But first you had to taste test the cakes. In my dream I basically finished off a huge sheet cake by myself. Then I woke up in a huge puddle of drool! I never drool! So gross!

Nice. I would go with a cake that fits the party theme.
On the subject of cakes, but totally off the subject of baby showers, I found out this week that our local grocery store bakery will make NSFW cakes. I was shocked and amused. Those ladies behind the counter always seemed so innocent.
