What did you ladies do over the weekend? Tiffany - how are the house projects coming along?
Re: The weekend
Oy. Well, DH's new TV came in and he decided he didn't want it on the mantle after all AFTER we hung it up there. :head desk: So now I have a semi-giant TV on a stand in my living room....and I have to find a big painting or something for the mantle.
Otherwise everything is going well.... I painted the master bathroom which is the only remaining room to paint. The ceiling is seriously probably 20' high and there is a big skylight and an alcove at the very top. It was a PAIN...and it still needs a second coat.
The good news is the home warranty is covering the AC replacement. Thank goodness.
Thanks for asking, though!
We are almost done!
We went to visit my grandparents and poor DH had to help them with house repairs. My grandma paid him handsomely in extremely heavy and fattening yet delicious food.
Tiffany - Was the TV a surprise for DH like you had planned or did he pick it out?
Julie - we wanted to see Lincoln Lawyer, but it was all sold out at SMG. So, we saw Limitless. I liked it. It was a pretty good movie.
Tiffany - Oy indeed. Depending on what kind of painting you want - you might try Home Goods. I've bought several "paintings" on canvases there. I think they look nice. Also, Kohl's is having a huge sale of some of their "houseware" stuff. I bought a painting there along with some general house decor. They are also having a sale on their bedding. So, I bought some of that, too.
Oh, very good news!
Lacey- Thanks I will check those places out! I love Home Goods! I was in Garden Ridge yesterday and they had some fairly nice ones too. The biggest problem will be deciding what to put there... I think.
Leslie - The TV was a surprise. We had a 46" plasma that was on the wall in our townhouse...and the previous owners of our house had the wall above the mantle pre-wired for their TV so I got a 55" Samsung LED for DH (he is thrilled about that part) .... but he thinks looking "up" at the TV is uncomfortable would hurt his neck. ::head desk, again::
This was just a "stuff" weekend for us. Some house work, some yard word, some shopping, some errands.
My DH is helping coach my nephew's soccer team and they had their first game on Saturday morning. I know I haven't laughed that hard in a long time!
I know that you and your bank account are breathing a huge sigh of relief.
That's the next one I want to see, Lacey.
Shortgirl & Julie - Yep! We are so grateful for that.
Sara - Glad you are joining us!
Thank you for welcoming me!
Little kids playing soccer are really funny. Actually little kids playing sports in general are funny. I love the lost kids in the outfield at my cousin's baseball games.
Tiffany - glad the surprise portion at least worked out!
One of my favorites was a t-ball game where everyone started shouting "Run home!" and he ran through the gate towards the car.
Oh, and one of my kids got caught at school last week with his, uh, "stuff" and is now expelled until the end of the year.
This happened this weekend, so it fits:
My great aunt asked me what a twitter was and how she could get one. I explained twitter to her and asked her why she wanted to get an account. She said "I need to know what that Bronx Zoo cobra is up to, that thing is genius!"
LOL. My dad decided that they need a sling box so that he could watch TV while at dialysis, etc. He also bought himself an HTC Inspire and an iPad 2. Yesterday, he spent part of the baseball game watching the race.
This made me laugh! My DH says the same thing!! I was kept thinking really?? I asked DH how lazy can you be.
Oh thank GOODNESS I am not alone!! I think you would just get used to it, but hey, it's his birthday gift.. I can't really argue with him.
Saturday we went to the new Mi Cocina in Rockwall and two Mambo Taxis later, I was passed out at home at 9:00 p.m. and stayed in bed until 11:30 a.m. this morning. It was the weirdest thing that I think has ever happened to me. I mean a hangover for a day and a half?? I've never heard of this.
Julie, I love A Chorus Line. I saw it last summer I think.
With All the Trimmings
Just do it!
I don't think I left the house the entire weekend. DH was supposed to get to come home on Saturday... that didn't happen. He has been telling me "two or three more days" since Friday night. Sorry to keep complaining about it, but I'm pretty bummed, and I'm trying to limit my IRL complaining.
I sort of cleaned - I gathered up all this cluttery stuff around the house with the intention of putting it away, but it's still in a few piles. Oops. Did some laundry... Finished my closet! Now I need to get off here and go put the clothes and stuff back in it. Hopefully the hot pink doesn't mess with how my clothes look too badly, because man, I love it!
