WW -- check in (kind of)

Just wondering how it was going for others out there. Who's still tracking? Or not tracking, but trying to lose weight? Any successes or setbacks lately?

Re: WW -- check in (kind of)

  • I'm one big set back but I've started again today. Brought my lunch, had an oatmeal for breakfast. I've realized breakfast is the hardest meal for me because I don't like scrambled eggs.
  • I havent even been attempting. Life has been pretty hectic and I started beating myself up for not tracking daily, or when Id slip up. I realized that I have to deal with the emotional part as well what I eat.

I came across a book, Made to Crave and just started to read it yesterday. It is about dealing with the mind set and dealing with the emotional part of being healthy and looking towards faith to heal that. They also have daily reminders that are emailed and are pretty inspirational. It has me pretty pumped right now, and I trying to find someone that has read it. So if anyone has read it Id love to hear your thoughts on it.

  • I've also had a very busy couple of weeks. I've still been tracking, but I'm not sure where I am on the scale. I missed my WW meeting last week because DH had a pre-op doctor's appointment that day and then knee surgery on Friday. I blew most of my weekly points on sweets at a baby shower this weekend, but it was so worth it. :)

  • The past few weeks haven't been great, but still losing.  I'm down 1.5 pounds this week.  I'm getting there anyways...I'm at 31.6% body fat (well, with the pinch fat measure) and I'd like to be down to at least 25% so that's my new goal.  Since I'm lifting weights 3 times a week the whole scale thing is way off.  I'm in a size 8 now, but 15 pounds heavier than the last time I was in an 8.  It's weird.

Me too. I haven't read the book but I'm gonna look into it.

I've Made to Crave and really like it.  It's $9.99 on nook and I read it while working out.  What I really like about it is that you can interpret it with anything you crave or have issues with.  Mine isn't just eating, I have a lot of other issues to.  It is from a Christian perspective, so just a heads up there.

I first found a shortened free version on iBooks, then went and purchased the actual book at Barnes and Nobles for $15. They have a website with a few helpful things as well. So far it has made me realize that it doesn't matter how hard I try to stay on track to loose that if I dont get with the program to speak on the other things then Ill continue back at square one over and over again. And yes it is written by a self proclaimed Bible teacher. She seems to be very humorous in her writing so far. Which I love that aspect and that most of the things she is talking about I can relate with.

  • Thanks for the book rec. My sister is looking for something like that, so I'll pass the title on to her.

I'm doing okay. My results are pretty consistent, even though they've kind of slowed down a little. I don't have trouble tracking, but I'm starting to get a little frustrated and confused by how to use activity points and weekly points. And it seems every leader I ask has a different theory on how to use them, so I'm annoyed and worried about eating too little. I'm actually thinking about staying in the meetings (because I really like them and having to get on the scale each week is a huge motivator to keep me tracking) but switching to a calorie tracking system.
