Visiting Altanta

Hey girls! I'm a Miami nestie - My best friends and I are going to be heading to your neck of the woods in a few weeks and I wanted to get advice from the experts on how to spend our time there. We're only going to be there for two days.

We're planning on staying in the downtown area (is this smart? We want to be central - we're going to a book signing in Buckhead, but we'll have a rental car and can drive there).

We like to drink and definitely want to know the best bars/hotspots in the area, as well as any restaurants you recommend. I don't know what the prices are like in Atlanta, but here in Miami an average dinner for two with a bottle of wine runs at about $100 - so anywhere in that price range is fine

As for day time, is the Aquarium worth a visit? How long do you think we'll spend there? What else should we do?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Visiting Altanta

  • Stay in Buckhead downtown dies at night around here. What type of crowd are you looking for? This will help us determine what part of town you should be hanging out in. What type of food are you looking for?

  • I would say to stay in Midtown not Downtown. Also if you will be here the weekend of the 16th - there is the Dogwood Festival and the Sweetwater 420 Fest. Those are always a good time
  • Hmm.. Anywhere with a nice bar, music, where we can get martinis and people watch. It'd be nice if there's a place where there are several bars grouped together so we can bar hop.

We're not picky about food. Anything good. American or Asian is preferable, I guess.

  • The people watching in Buckhead is great. A friend of mine owns a store at Lenox. The things I see when I am hanging out at his store......... I bet Dantannas at Lenox should be good and hilarious, they seem to have a pretty decent happy hour. You will find Atlanta isn't too walkable.

  • I have some restaurant reviews in my bio at all price points.
  • I live in Midtown and there are a lot of good restaurants and walk-able bars in the area.
