Recruiter/ Staffing Coodinator
I had a pre screen interview for a recruiter/ staffing coordinator position. I am interested in the position but I have never been in a job like this before. The person I interviewed with is being promoted so all he had to say were very good things. I really want to get a full picture of what the job from people who are in a similar position. Are any of you staffing coordinators/ recruiters, what do you like about the job, what do you dislike, and how did get started.

I was in recruiting and I moved to sales, now I'm thinking about going back. I really liked recruiting because you develop great relationships with people and give them jobs. It's fun. Keep in mind, when it comes to staffing there are people who will try to lie, steal and cheat there way into a job and you need a good B.S. meter. You will spend most of the day on the phone and if you need to get a hold of someone who is already working you will have to make some calls after hours and on weekends.
Recruiting is by no means easy, but sales is way more challenging (I have sold both B2B and B2C pieces of 150K equipment and services). I'm considering taking a pay cut to go back to recruiting because I want to start a family and it will be lower stress but still challenging.
