Are you trying to tell me something? Chris has all those qualities - well, he has hair (which is one step above Lars!)
My first two are the same 1) Musical talent 2) Accent and 3) Bad boys.
Chris thankfully claims the first two easily, but luckily for me, he is a very good boy. I've had my fill of bad boys . . . .I love 'em and they reel me in, however they are no good for me.
Bwah. That's funny. :-)
I'm a sucker for....
1. Considerate guys. Ones who will open the door for you and are really nice to their mom. (DH for sure.)
2. Guys who can sing really well. (DH can't. At. All.)
3. Kind of scrawny but kind of built kind of geeky but also kind of cool guys. (See DH.) :-)
ETA: Freckles! I love freckles! DH is loaded with freckles. Love it. And red hair! I love DH's red hair.....
I am a sucker for:
1) Tattoos
2) A 5 O'Clock Shadow
3) Sense of Humor
Fortunately, my DH has all three of these things, and I am sure they played a part of me being attracted to him. That said, all 3 of these things have qualifiers for me. If the guy has a cartoon tattoo or something cheesy, I am not at all into it. I couldn't date a dude with a Marvin the Martian tattoo for example. Also, I like guys with a little bit of scruff......but I am not into beards at all. And finally, I LOVE a sense of humor....but not everyone's sense of humor. You know? Everyone has a different sense of humor, and I don't personally find all of them funny.

My type, characteristics that I'd notice from across the room:
1 - Confidence and a nice smile (not to be confused with arrogance)
2 - Tall, athletic types with some muscle, but not beefcakes. While, I'm 5'10" and hated dating guys that made me feel like a giant, I also hated dating really big muscle guys because I was not used to feeling small.
3 - Clean cut in appearance with good hair - Brooks Brothers's target market
Dh gets all of these marks, but his height is debatable as "tall" @ 5'11"
1. Sense of humor
2. Likes sports/athletic and tall
3. A genuinely nice person
My H has all 3 of these characteristics. We met through match.com and he was the first and only person that I ever went on a date with from there. When we first started dating, I couldn't believe that I met someone that had all the characteristics I was looking for in a guy. I had really dated some duds before him LOL
ha! well, i should say that bad boy sort of factors in there as well... the problem is, musicians (as a generalization) are so not marriage material. at least not ones that are primarily focused on their music (and don't have a day job).
and no, i promise to not try to steal your hubs. he fits many of my criteria but misses the mark on one big one, that hair of his is blond and i only like dark haired guys. (lars is blond but he shaves so it's a non-factor.)
he's also too intellectual in his musical abilities. we would fight constantly about "good" music. lol...
for the record, i don't feel like husbands have to have the characteristics that make you swoon or you're somehow not a good match or something. often what makes our loins long is so not "good" for us.So true!! I was telling Chris that you saw Clive in Ireland and that he might be coming back to the States on tour - so he looked him up and said he was a sell-out for playing music he has no background in . . . as if you have to grow up in the South to play blues??? He also says that his fellow Surrey-boy, Eric Clapton, has no business playing the music for which he is famous . . . . ugh. I completely disagree and think that music is should not be restricted to one's personal background and that a muscian has the right to play whatever style he feels best expressed his emotions and conveys his talent. That is how music is shared, and styles are shared and expanded upon.
Chris and I disagree about music.all.the.time! He is far too critical and intellectual about it - but it is hard to argue with a professional musician, so I often just keep my mouth shut!
As for liking what is not good for us - oh hellz yes! We love our husbands 110% - bo doubt - but that doesn't mean we can't be attracted to qualities in other people or find things in other people that make our hearts (and nether-regions) flutter a bit. It is healthy and human!
Haha, my boring side shows through again. The stuff that makes me swoon is mostly the characteristics that DH has. Bad boys, tattoos, musicians etc just don't do it for me.

DH is definately up for an adventure, especially spur of the moment ones. He was big and burly, but is losing weight. He'll still be tall and muscular, but not burly.

1) intelligence (I want to be challenged)
2) diverse interests, with a willingness to try new things/experiences (someone who can appreciate culture/activities of all kinds - music, theatre, movies, sports, food, travel, etc.)
3) clean/organized (I can't handle clutter and mess ... if a guy makes "to do lists", sorts his sock drawer by color, knows exactly where to find his tax documentation from 2001, and religiously washes every dirty dish right after a meal is done ... that's my kind of guy)
