how'd the meeting go regarding your gifted offspring?

    I think it went well! We went over the testing requirements etc to be officially classifed as "gifted" etc and like Augustbride mentioned (thanks btw) if it becomes necessary they will place her in another school district. The principal has assured me that they will do everything they can to challenge and nuture her. They have already picked her first grade teacher and would like me to meet her soon so we can talk about things. I feel at ease now. Gifted or not, as long as they are able to give her what she needs I will be happy. I also recognize that she is only going into the first grade so she has a lot to learn about being a good learner as well.

    Nanuet doesn't have a Dimensions program?  I went to Clarkstown as a kid and started Dimensions in the 3rd grade.  We were pulled from class about 2x a week and challenged with math, vocabulary, logic problems, etc.  It was so much fun!  I'm such a nerd.  I sucked royally at Math... I was just never good at it.  I can handle logic though!
