Unexplained back pain... calling doctor tomorrow
I've had severe lower back pain (upper butt?) for a week now. Right now, I'm "stuck" on the couch and letting Shannon watch more TV than I should. It's not getting any better, and I thought it would have by now.
It hurts to sit, it hurts to stand, to shift, to walk, to get up. I didn't fall, and can't otherwise explain the pain away. Slipped disk perhaps? I guess it's time to call the doctor. Not fooling around with my back/spine!
I guess I'm just getting old.
Re: Unexplained back pain... calling doctor tomorrow
I actually got what sounds to be like a very similar pain. Very much my lower back and into my butt. I couldn't do anything to relieve the pain. I actually had some pain meds left over from a recent car accident so I took those so I could sleep. After stretching and resting my back it got better within a day or 2.
I never went to the doctor for it but I looked at a bunch of stuff online and it seemed to be a pinched nerve.
I hope it gets better soon for you!!!
I've thought of sciatica, but it's different than when I had it while pregnant. I am not ruling that out, but it's just not what I know as sciatic pain. My mom suggested it might be a slipped disk, but lord knows I am NOT going to google my pain and come up with thousands of diagnoses for what is likely going to be a "suck it up and deal" moment when face-to-face with a medical professional.
I've tried stretching, heat, ice... Nothing's helping it, so now it's time to call the doctor.
Sounds like when I get sciatica, but maybe not since you said you've experienced that & it wasn't the same thing. At any rate, feel better!
i had back pain too about a month or so ago. it was a pinched nerve and needed only 2 sessions with a physical therapist.
turns out my lovely babies loosened my core muscles, i tilt my pelvis and arch my back too much.
so i am now working on strengthening my core.
