Re: QOTD

  • Being a mother and taking care and providing for this little girl, nothing compares to it.  Watching her grow and do something new everyday is just amazing!
  • I am proud that I overcame a very crappy childhood and have become the confident, educated woman I am today.  I owe that all to my mom.

  • I am proud that despite a rough few years Ben and I made it through the recession with a stronger marriage. There was me getting laid off, then Ben's companies doing layoffs and us terrified he would always be next. Then came the overtime being cut, benefits being cut and then multiple paycuts. Every time we had to readjust our whole life but we survived and were able to take some trips and buy some things by extreme saving. In that time we also got adjusted to a new location and learned to like our life in Atlanta.
    I heart Ben!!

  • I am most proud of my accomplishments. The first 17 years of my life were less than desirable. However, I went on to college and to get my Masters and now have a great career. Everyone tells me I should have wound up on drugs and a mess but that was not the case. What I learned is how important the first years of your life are and what an impression good models (like my mom) can have on you. If I had only been raised by my idiot father things would not have turned out as good.

  • I am proud of the home I have built with dh. Very often I look around and get so sad that I can't show my grandmother how all the hard work paid off.

I also am very proud of how responsible dh and I are, I look at two of my sisters (and other people for that matter) and see how irresponsible they are and live beyond their means. I am glad dh and I do not feel the need to keep up. I realize we still have work to do (on our budgeting and savings) with a few things but we are never in major CC debt and that makes me proud even if it seems small.

  • I am proud that even though I hated school and slacked off in my schoolwork from elementary school all the way through college that I graduated college, have a gret job, and can help provide a more comfortable life for my family than my parents were able to provide for us.  This is something most of my family can't do.  Most of my family lives paycheck to paycheck and that's how both DH and I grew up.  Both DH and I know how hard that is and don't want our child(ren) to have to grow up that way if we can help it.

This is not small at all. The national average savings rate is in the negative. I am proud of hubby for being able to keep my spending in check while still spoiling me and making sure that we keep a balanced budget. Maybe we should give lessons to the legislature.

I'm proud of Jordan. He is so smart and loving.

I'm proud of myself for going back to school.

Thanks, sometimes the fact that we are still financing two cars and have the mortgage makes me feel like we haven't got the greatest handle of our debt. I can NOT wait until we are done with the cars next year.

Taking on a second car payment made us nervous too. We did go used the second time around. I now have a student loan too which is totally freaking Scott out. But I look at it like we're using the loans (car, student, mortgage) to pay for investments and things we need. Not European vacations or Prada.

  • I'm proud of the amazing little boy I'm raising. He may make me crazy some days, but he gives me that smile and my heart just melts. He has me wrapped around his little finger and he knows it.

I'm proud of Andrew who has done so much for our family over last few months to secure our futures.

I also need to agree with Pooks, I'm proud that we do not have any major CC debt. I can't wait to be done with one car payment next year too!

  • I'm proud of you ladies and your amazing accomplishments. I'm proud of myself for pushing my way through graduate school and all of the training I've gone through at work. I'm proud of my sis and bro-in-law for pushing through their rough times, which never seem to end. And I'm proud of my dad for being so strong through his radiation treatments.

  • I'm proud of myself for going back to school. It's not easy but I know that it's worth it in the end. Same thing about trying to lose wieght and get healthier. Not easy, but so important. I'm proud of both Drew and I for making some tough decisions now for the long-run. We're still having fun, we're just paying more attention.
