Moms - Do you bring LO to the beach alone?

I love going to the beach. So does Aiden. H hates it and never wants to go. I figure I can bring Aiden during the evenings some days to play in the sand and walk around. But I have always been kinda paranoid when I go places alone (I always either feel awkward or unsafe). So, moms, are there any beaches you go to with just you and your LO that you enjoy? I really feel that going more and doing things like this will help me boost my moods some days but I'm just not sure where to go. Thanks for any input ladies!

I love my crazy child!

  • If I take DD alone, I like Honeymoon Island and Pass-a-grille.  I don't think you're close to those, though.  Although, I'm not close to either.  But I go to the beach 2-3x/year, not on a nightly basis.

  • I think I am going to start taking Macy during the day this year.  The only thing that sucks is the closest beach from me is about 20 minutes away but there is no way to get there by car.  There is no bridge to the barrier island :(  So, if we want to go to the beach, I have to drive all the way up to Corpus Christi and over to the barrier island up there, which ends up being about 1 hour and 30 minutes one way.  Ugh.  So, because of the drive, I won't be going as often as I hope :(

But no, I wouldn't feel awkward taking Macy alone.  I think you should go and get out of the house!

  • Well, I am LO-less, but If I did have one I think that I would take him/her to the beach with just the two of us.  Why not?!  Enjoy your time with him!

  • If I had just one little one I would absolutely go to the beach alone with them.  With two..it's a different story... for me at least.

  • I have taken Ava a few times to Honeymoon Island.  I typically go first thing in the morning when no one is there and it's quiet.  By lunch/nap time we're both over it and ready to head home.
