tell me what you think of this business
http://www.iloveflipbooks.com/
is it on the same level as a photo booth? better? worse?
I think it looks like fun and I've never seen anything like it. would it be appropriate for a wedding?
Once I get an idea rolling around in my head I get absolutely obsessed with it and this is my current obsession.
Re: tell me what you think of this business
I think it's a bit much for a wedding. A photo strip in an album that people can sign is just the right amount in my opinion.
Would each person make one of these? It's the type of thing that is cool while you're at the wedding but then when you get home I'd pitch it or it would collect dust on my shelf. And then I'd be annoyed every time I dusted. (which to be honest isn't often.)
Ugh. I'm not a fan of anything that is small and hard to store.
Seems like a great novelty, junk throw away thing... but I can't see keeping and enjoying something like that as a guest.
I like the photostrips for favors to guests and the guestbook for the Bride/Groom. I don't really see a way of the bride and groom having a keepsake out of the flip books.
And I totally see the cheeseball factor in the flipbooks - but it just looks like FUN. I'm not even much of a "fun" person when it comes to pictures - but I can see groups of people really enjoying this (even if it's not exactly my style).
I'm feeling the obsession slip away...
and BTW what wedding favor have you ever kept? me: zero, unless you count chocolate - which I immediately apply to my thighs.
Exactly. That flipbook would either get left at the reception or thrown away immediately upon getting home.
I don't take non-edible favors home. I don't think many people do (which is why to this day our friends are STILL trying to give away their "M&A" champagne flutes and they got marred in 2005. They probably have 50 of them!)
This - I still have a bunch of HS graduation pictures that I just had to have.
Judging
Ugh - I'm still not over this because I ran some pretty basic numbers and would only need to book about 10 dates to be profitable on this thing.
If it's too hokey for weddings maybe it would be good for proms/office xmas parties/grand openings - I think this just looks like goofy fun. To me it's less the keepsake factor of the flipbooks - it's the fun you have while doing it. And I can see keeping the little book in my purse for a few weeks and showing my friends/co-workers, I love having something new to share with people (I'm a dork, I guess).
Obsession continues...
And if you're at all interested in my other "fantastic money making opportunities" I've also had the idea to host a Mommy Marketplace/Etsy Live type craftshow at the Maple Grove community center (only $60 for a booth!) AND I thought it would be a good idea to run either a Twin Cities Women's Directory or small, affordable bridal advertising publication http://www.hiddenvalues.com/
Maybe it's time for a different hobby.
Businesses with quotes about God on the front page make me feel a little icky to be completely honest.
Good luck with your ventures.
