Since our anniversaries (or wedding days!!!) are approaching, I was thinking about how we chose our date.
So, how did you and your H choose your wedding date?

Re: Anni Question
I liked the idea of a spring wedding. April would have been too cold, and there is already so much in June, so I chose May.
First I chose the 10th, then pushed it to the 17th. Then I decided that since the 24th was the holiday weekend it may make it easier for family that has to travel to be able to have the long weekend. Plus the 24th was my great-grandfather's birthday. It was also the 4th anniversary of my great-grandmother's passing, so I was trying to make that date happy again.

My Grandpa passed away on 5/16/05, I was hoping it would give us something happy to think about too.
We wanted spring but not too cold so we went with May. We didn't want super early May or over the holiday. BIL's birthday was the one weekend, Mother's Day was another. We went with what was left.
We chose our wedding date based on our dating anniversarry
H proposed exactly 2 yrs after meeting me, and we got married exactly 3 yrs after we became a couple
We wanted a holiday weekend since we had a lot of people coming from out of town - we lived in Seattle but were having the wedding in Cincinnati. We were thinking either Labor Day 07 or Memorial Day 08 - my brother was in the Marines, and thought he would be deployed in 07, but out by 08.
We did Memorial weekend so he would be out of the Marines, but then he re-enlisted. Boo... Oh well, we did the Saturday just becaue we wanted it to be a Saturday

Baby Sister is coming soon!
well we were thinking fall or spring. but we got engaged in march, so we thought that same fall might be too soon and the following fall to late. so we went with may which was just over 13 months away. our "dating anniversary" was may 20th, so we checked the calendar and that was during the week- then we got to thinking about it and memorial day weekend made sense. we had a lot of people travelling so having the extra time seemed nice.
Honestly, it was a goofy way. We knew we wanted to get married in Spring, and we got engaged December 1st. I remember later that week we were driving up to Salt Lake and talking about maybe getting married in May, and we passed a sign that said "Salt Lake 23 miles" and J made a joke about how we should just get married on the 23rd, and then I looked it up and it was a Friday and we were like, oh, maybe we should...
and that was that.
