Apts in (North) Greensboro

Hi!  My DH and I are looking for apartments on the north side of Greensboro...or even a little bit outside of Greensboro on the north side.  We are hoping to get something very close to highway 220 b/c that's the route my husband will be traveling to work.

Any suggestions?

Re: Apts in (North) Greensboro

  • I lived in Brassfield apartments on New Garden and Brassfield for a year.  The management sucked, but its changed since then (its now Bell Brassfield or something like that).  The apartment was an awesome layout though.

I almost chose a complex that was up Lake Brandt road, right on the greenway.  It was a little far out for me since I was working downtown, but if you want to be north of town it might be nice.

there are several right around Battleground (220) if you just look in apartmentfinder.com or similar.

  • I have coworkers who have been happy with Lincoln Green is convenient to Battleground Ave.

  • I've had friends live in all of the above apt complexes and all of them enjoyed them.   No real complaints (including the complex near the greenway).

My co-worker had a short stay at Fox Hunt apts right on 220 (?) but didn't have any complaints either (she knew going in that it was going to be short-term, not that she broke her lease to get out).

We lived at Woodland Park on Pisgah Church (still convenient to 220) and had a good experience--we lived in one of the units that was back from the road a bit.

  • When I stayed on that side of town in an apt, I stayed in the Hedges and Yester Oaks.  The Hedges is on the corner of Cotswold and Lawndale and you have easy access to Battleground from there. That was about 7 years ago though. While I was there, I enjoyed it. I enjoyed having the screened in patio. Not sure how things are now.  Yester Oaks is on Pisgah Church. I had an apt and then moved into one of their townhomes when DH and I moved in together. The prices were very reasonable (at that time, not sure now) and I enjoyed the club house because it had an indoor racquetball court, pool table, and nice bar area ( back then they sold beer and you could watch tv).

  • I second Lincoln Green. The updated apartments are really nice. They have two pools and a decent gym. The people in the office are always nice and remembered my name even though it's a huge complex.
  • Oops. Sorry for bringing up the old post. I'm from TK and over here exploring but I'm not quite used to the layout yet.
