Annapolis ladies

My SIL is getting married this fall. There's some drama concerning her shower in May. We're having a hard time agreeing on whose house to have the shower. Any suggestions for a place to have the shower in Annapolis? It will be May 21st or 22nd. SIL was very upset last night and I promised her that I would find some solutions...I really appreciate any ideas!

Re: Annapolis ladies

  • How many people are you inviting?
  • I just sent the MOH a message. I have no clue. I think there were about 20 at my shower and it was mostly family (which will be SIL's side of the family). I know most of her friends/BM are out of state.

  • I'm not sure how expensive it is per person but I saw a bridal shower when we were at the Sunday brunch at Yellowfin in Edgewater.  They had a string of tables in a corner to themselves. I bet there are lots of place that would accommodate something similar.
  • If you are interested in a tea room atmosphere, there is Reynolds Tavern in downtown Annapolis or Moulin de Paris in Severna Park. I've seen a lot of showers of that size at Yellowfin during their Sunday buffet brunch at a regular table. They also have a private room but I'm not sure if they have a minimum requirement or anything. Wild Orchid Cafe near downtown Annapolis has a private room and I'm pretty sure Brio at the Parole Town Center has one. Maybe also Carroll's Creek? If you don't want to do a restaurant, you could probably also just rent a pavilion at Quiet Water's Park.
  • Thanks! I only know a few restaurants in Annapolis b/c the family eats at the same places all the time. I'll definitely check some of these places out. I was thinking a tea room type place. SIL's tastes are different from mine so it's hard to figure out what she would like.

  • No suggestions, but why in the world is the shower so early if she's getting married in the fall?  Is that the only time it worked for family?

  • Ditto the recc's for Reynolds Tea Room & Carroll's Creek.  Boatyard Bar & Grill also has a back room area that would probably work. I haven't been to the new Wild Orchid location, but they had very nice food @ their previous location.

  • Stoney River Steakhouse at the Annapolis Mall also has private rooms.  Their lunch prices are pretty reasonable.

Her maid of honor runs a summer camp so she's unable to do anything throughout the summer. And August was too close to her September wedding.

  • Ditto Yellowfin!

  • That's the begining of Commissioning Week.  Downtown Annapolis and surrounding hotels may be booked.

However, Carroll's Creek, Chart House, and Pussers are nice places on the water for a shower.

    Thanks...didn't even think about that.
