Shameless plug: Michael recently started a baseball website http://theslurve.com/ as a side project with some friends. I think it's a lot of fun so check it out and share with other fans (pretty please). They're a little short-staffed at the moment, but are hoping to get more writers on-board so they can cover every team equally. Anyone interested can email them through the website!

Re: Baseball/Shameless plug
Team - Oakland Athletics
I used to go a few times a year, when I lived about an 1.5 hours from Oakland. Now I lived about 20 mins from Seattle but the Mariners kind of suck (although, they do play Oakland several times a season since they're in the same division so I'm going to try and go to at least one of those games this year). I was pregnant all of last season, so sitting in a stadium, especially towards September, was not appealing. Now Phoenix needs to go to her first ball game so whether its against Oakland or not, we will be going to a Mariners game at least once this year.
Player - 2nd baseman Mark Ellis. He's a pretty solid player, when he's not on the DL, which is unfortunately often.

I am a Mets fan AND a Yankees fan (but I hate A-rod) - though I follow the Mets more closely and root for them over the Yankees in the subway series. Michael is also a Mets fan - his grandmother raised him that way lol!
We try to go 1-2 times a season. We don't buy and of the game packs or expensive seats. We love to watch on our HD tv at home or at few of the local sportsbars.
I love me some David Wright:

Anyone here a baseball fan? Hellz yeah. It's the only sport I care to follow!
What team(s) do you follow - what about your DH? Boston Red Sox, FO' SHO'!!! Chris doesn't care about them unless we're winning. Jerkface.
How often do you attend games? As often as I can afford it, and being in Boston, it's not often. I mean, what other teams offer raffles just to be able to purchase decent tickets at face value? So far I have tickets for Red Sox v. Yankees in August, and Chris won tickets through work for next Monday's game vs. Tampa Bay -- this will also be the first time we've ever gone to a Red Sox game together. Ever.

<---- Definitely a baseball fan.
Since we're talking MLB, I'm an ATL Braves fan. I actually spend much more of my time at high school games though, since Robin is a coach.
We have Braves tickets for next weekend actually. Atlanta is a 4 hour drive from us, but we usually go at least once a year. We're making a long weekend of it, since we aren't going anywhere for Spring Break. We'll probably go to another game this summer.
Favorite players:
Chipper Jones
Tim Hudson- who, strangly enough, use to hang out with my sister and her friends at Auburn. Don't get me started on why a married man would be hanging around a bunch of college girls..... The boy can still pitch.
What team(s) do you follow - what about your DH? I'm a Cardinals fan. My H doesn't care. Sometimes he cheers for the Royals to annoy me.
How often do you attend games? We go to at least 1 game of the series while they're in DC. When they're on weekends we do 2, but this year it is a weekday series and it looks like we can only swing 1.

YadiMo! He's my favorite active Cardinal.
Stand up for something you believe in.
lol - he cracks me up with that stance!
| cute shoes make me happy |
he cracks me up too - last year, the Mets were playing the Cardinals and he was up to bat, and the ump called strike three. He turns to the ump and you can see him say "are you sure that wasn't a bit low?" "I mean, it kinda looked a bit low, don't ya think?"
his tone was very light and innocent and I thought it was amazing.

He is HILARIOUS and a little mouthy. He's also got a room full of gold gloves because he is awesome. He also has 2 brothers- Bengie (retired) and Jose (Blue Jays)- who also played pro, and they're all catchers. Catcher Gustavo Molina (Yankees) is of no relation.
Stand up for something you believe in.
Anyone here a baseball fan? Yup! Sox fan here too!
What team(s) do you follow - what about your DH? Both of us are Boston fans.
How often do you attend games? We split season tickets with Jon's uncle so we go to a lot of games..we have 2 seats about 10 rows up behind home plate (and we're selling a couple of games if anyone's interested
) ). We usually go down to Fort Myers for Spring Training too..this year is the first time in 5 years we haven't gone and it was totally depressing.

aw thanks!

I will have to show H the website Riss, he would love it!
What team(s) do you follow - what about your DH? We both follow the Yankees. We watch every game at our house and our life is basically planned around the games. I love it but I am not as obsessed at H.
How often do you attend games? We try to go every year at least once together, and he usually goes at least once with friends. It is harder for us to go a lot because we don't live that close to NYC.

Anyone here a baseball fan? I pretend I am. I grew up surrounded by big baseball people (my dad played a lot when I was little, and my youngest cousin was obsessed with baseball and majored in sports management). And then I married a huge baseball fan. I happily watch the games, but I don't really find any info myself, Clint does all that. But while I hate and refuse to watch other sports, I don't mind watching baseball.
What team(s) do you follow - what about your DH? Everyone in my family is a Red Sox fan. My great-grandmother was a Yankees fan and it was a huge family scandal, lol. Clint is Red Sox and Phillies. We also kind of like the Oakland A's because 1. one of our friends is a huge A's fan now, and 2. my cousin used to work for their minor league farm team. My dad grew up a Twins fan so I think of them fondly, but don't really pay attention. Also the minor league team where I grew up is the farm team for the Twins.
How often do you attend games? not often. I went to a red sox game once. We used to go to minor league games when I was in middle and high school, as a big whole-family thing for my youngest cousin. It was fun. Last summer I wanted to go to the Worcester Tornadoes games, but it never worked out- Clint went a few times without me.

Papelbon because the face he makes when he's pitching cracks me up.
Anyone here a baseball fan? YES!!!!
What team(s) do you follow - what about your DH? We're both big Brewer fans.
How often do you attend games? As often as possible. We usually get to around 15.
PIP: Your favorite player(s)
Ryan Braun, naturally.

Rickie Weeks

Prince Fielder, I love this picture so much that I have it blown up, printed on canvas and hung in our Brewer room

Honestly, I love all of the Brewers. JJ Hardy too even though he is gone
Anyone here a baseball fan? YES! However, I'm off to a cranky start this season. 0-4 for our "dream team" is not a good way to start the season.
What team(s) do you follow - what about your DH? The Red Sox are my team - but, I like to follow the entire league. Doug's a Sox fan too, but also a HUGE Ken Griffey, Jr. fan, so when he was still playing, Doug rooted for whatever team he was on, too.
How often do you attend games? As often as possible and when I can afford it - Fenway isn't exactly the cheapest ballpark around. From what I've heard, it's cheaper to go down to Baltimore and book a hotel and get fairly decent seats than it is for one night at Fenway.
PIP: Your favorite player(s)
Historically: Shoeless Joe Jackson
My all-time favorite: Nomar Garciaparra
Current Sox Player: Kevin Youkilis (unless Jacoby actually shows up again this season, so far so good)
Me too, please!
Me three, possibly (depending on how much you're asking). I'm not a baseball fan anymore, but Bill is.
1. I am not a fan now, but I was when I was younger. I even played Little League and was an all-star. It's too slow. I don't really watch sports. I'd rather play.
2. When I did care, I was a Red Sox fan, naturally. H is a Sox fan. He doesn't watch them that much, cause he sometimes forgets that we have NESN now. But one of his fave things to do in the summer is go to a bar and watch a game having a beer or two.
3. We maybe go once a year...my high school used to have alumni night and had bleacher seats pretty cheap and we did that a few times, but they stopped doing it last year.
4. Don't really know who's who now (I hear the names on the radio, but--sorry Jill etc--don't really care enough to pay attention) but Carlton Fisk is as good as it gets, old school.
HAHA, don't worry about it, lady!
