Grant has four food allergies!

I took Grant to the pedi last monday because he has rashes all over his body that won't go away. She said it looks like excema and referred us to an allergist. Yesterday we went to the allergist and he did the skin test on him (OMG the skin test is awful!!) He reacted to eggs, cows milk, soybeans and pork.

We have to do a 10 day elimination diet then reintroduce each food for 3 days and try to pinpoint which one is causing the rashes. The allergist said that it could very well be all 4 foods. :(

Anyone have any good allergy food blogs to share?

  • Poor little buddy!!  I feel so bad for him.  I hope it's something easy to address and that he grows out of it at some point :(

I found this and it actually looks pretty interesting and helpful:

  • You can substitute Almond Milk or Coconut milk for cows milk.  You can also use the almond milk as a substitute in cooking and can't tell the difference.  I would check out Trader Joes and Campbells to see what products they have that don't have those foods in the them.  Can he have dairy and just no cows milk?!

  • Poor buddy! I don't have any advice but just wanted to say hang in there! We are sort of going through something similar with B in that he is definitely intolerant to milk protein right now and the elimination diet has been really tough for me. Did he have any troubles with formula or when you nursed him as an infant as far as the dairy is concerned?
