Which Wedding Gifts Have You Really Used?
Ladies, a year ago we were eagerly tearing into our wedding gifts, seeing what our friends and family had picked out. I want to know, in the past year, what have you actually used? Has something that seemed like a must-have when you registered been gathering dust? Do you have a favorite non-registry gift? Here's mine:
Used The Most : Cast Iron Pan, Mixing Bowls, Sheets (heh)
Used The Least: Pretty Serving Dishes, Nice Table Linens
Favorite Non-Registry Gift: Picnic Basket filled with Bottles of Wine
OK, spill!

Re: Which Wedding Gifts Have You Really Used?
Used the most: goose feather down comforter that I need to take to the cleaners because the cat decided it was his litter box
and our silverware
Used the least: The quesadilla press and the 3 glass cake stands we received
Favorite non registry gift: The pampered chef items the owners of our company got us
Used the Most: All the kitchen stuff (dishes, Kitchen Aid Mixer, bakeware, servingware, silverware, pans, etc.)
Used the Least: Fondue Set (haven't used it yet!), camping stuff
Favorite Non-Registry Gift: The Metallica bar stools (really nice) that our Best Man got for us! Also, my grandmother bought us a really nice family bible, highlighted our readings from the wedding it in, and started by filling out the family tree. I love it!
Used The Most : My le creusset dutch oven (LOVE)
Used The Least: Some of the misc. dish sets like dessert sets. I also haven't used my china HOWEVER we didn't ahve a table for guests till we moved into the house in Dec/Jan and I am using it on Easter (we still have to get it all from my mom's)
Favorite Non-Registry Gift: crystal candle sticks from DH's uncle (can't wait to put them on the table)
Used Most (and FAVORITE!) My Kitchen Aid, LOVE that thing!
Used Least - Probably service dishes and/or fancy placemats/napkins
DH & I at the Light Festival
Used The Most : Our storage containers...we have leftovers like whoa all the time!
Used The Least: Probably the Kitchenaid Stand mixer. I go in spurts with it but don't use it a lot.
Favorite Non-Registry Gift: The name plaque that my mom had custom made. It's so beautiful!Shmel's Blog
Terrific post!!
Used the most:
We really didn't need too much of anything for the home - so I didn't register for a whole lot . But of the few things we did register for, we definitely used the picture frames from pottery barn, large hurricane vases from crate/barrel, a set of non-stick baking pans (use them almost everyday for something!), an all in one griddle/grill/hotdog cooker from cuisinart and a really pretty and functional "temptations" cook/serveware set that Mom gave us...
Used the least:
Pretty much everything else! Because we didn't register for much, in addition to the monetary gifts, we also received a ton of random stuff. We ended up returning a lot of things that we knew we didn't need or wouldn't use, and the rest? Yeah, collecting dust!
Favorite non-registry gift:
These amazingly soft bed linens that one our friends gave us. She knew that I'm a sucker for serioius bed goodies!!
Beautiful!!!
Most: I use most of my gifts! Mixing bowls, fiestaware, sheets, towels
Least: Pasta maker. It doesn't work very well, and that makes me sad. Also our veggie steamer - I love it when we need it but we don't need it often.
Non-registry: Panini press and Wine Cooler! I can't believe we didn't register for those!
Used the most: probably the pots and pans I got, plus my everyday dishes and glasses. Oh, and we use our coffeemaker a few times a week.
Used the least: the Margaritaville maker I was so excited for is the only thing still sitting in its box. I've only used my fine china twice but that's to be expected.
Of course, we mostly got money, and most of that is still sitting in our savings account for our house fund so I guess you can see it's unused!
Favorite non-registry gift: does money count? Other than that, probably the vase my mom got us as an engagement gift. It's a ceramic vase with our names and wedding date on it in a really pretty pattern.
Unfortunately almost everything has been in storage since the wedding, as we are still at my parents house. We have used a few select things, mostly the Keurig and our down comforter. I can't think of a favorite non registry gift, but I like that question!

A10 Siggy Challenge: Next Vacation Destination: San Francisco!
Used The Most : Dinnerware, pots and pans, food processor, cookbooks
Used The Least: The fine china and crystal
Sometimes I use it just to use it, because why not???

Used the most: most of the kitchen stuff
Used the least: the slow cooker. I have yet to use it
Favorite non-registry gift: cash! We got some other things but they haven't been used that much.
Used The Most : bedding, glasses and pots & pans
Used The Least: our "china", some crystal candle holders, cookie cutters
Favorite Non-Registry Gift: hmmmm...cash...we used it to buy a GPS and a new digital camera, oh yeah and this awesome double buffet server/warmer...that thing is awesome!
Used the most: Keurig Coffee Maker, saute pans
Used the Least: Um, our wine glasses and regular glasses are still in their packaging!! Whoops!
Favorite non registry gift: We got some amazing soup bowls from a friend. They are beautiful!

Used The Most : Our knife set, and silverware set
Used The Least: Our china sets are still in the boxes
Favorite Non-Registry Gift: Ninja pro mixer
Used the most: Fiestaware! We LOVE it!
Used the least: Serving dishes/punch bowls, mini trifle bowls ( I WILL USE THESE SOME DAY!!)
Favorite non-registry gift: CASH...that was awesome! Most people bought off of our registry...so it worked out really nice!
**Marick---I am jealous of your wine gift!**
This! !! What an awesome gift!
Used the most: Our Sharper image wireless indoor/outdoor speaker, connects to the iPod/ iTunes and it sits in the kitchen now, but can use batteries and take it outside when the weather is nicer! Otherwise I think our hand mixer since I baked some more lately with the kids birthdays.
Used the least: Waterproof table cloth (but really cool!)
Favorite non-registry gift: CASH! That was the only non registry item except for the Kitchenaid Commerical sizeStand Mixer (it wasn't a big deal bc we already had one :-P so now we have a bigger one, which I can't make small volumes in bc the attachments won't blend the ingredients properly, so I use my hand mixer for smaller volumes)
April 2010 Siggy Challenge: Next Vacation Destination
The coffee pot - because Mike drinks coffee every day.
The toaster
Dishes/Mugs/Silverware/completer set to match dishes
Comforter & sheets (obviously)
Stock pot (always use it for pasta)
Mixing bowls
Favorite non registry gift - the matching crystal frame and vase from MOH (that she got for the wedding; the dishes and completer set were from her and her mom & sister which I got from the shower), displayed proudly on my console table. And now that srping is here I am ready to go and get a colorful bouquet to put in the vase.
Used least - iron/ironing board (because I hate to iron, LOL), baking stones (used twice so far), chip and dip set, other entertaining items since the only parties we really had so far were Amanda's birthday and a small cookout with friends in the late fall. I definitely plan to use them more often though!!!
Same here. We're buying a house soon though so I can't wait to use everything!
Use the most: Sheets, towels, stainless steel flatware, everyday china.
Use the least: a BIG wok & cookbook that my mother-in-law gave us.
Favorite Non-Registry Item: not sure... we didn't get much $$ b/c folks down here don't usually give money but I did get several non-registry gift that I didn't like like this weird crystal bowl that sat on a gold roman chariot looking thing. Ugh. That was donated - I didn't even want to re-gift it.
Used The Most : Everyday dinnerware and flatware, glasses, pots and pans, cooking utensils, Crock pot, toaster oven, Aerogarden, bed linens
Used The Least: Serving platters, KitchenAid Mixer (we've at least used our crystal and china; the mixer is still in its box)
Favorite Non-Registry Gift: Tickets to a U2 concert
Ten months: Mr. Giggles!
