stupid cold and cheap tissue

there are somethings in life you should splurge on... like tissue with lotion... and after blowing my nose no less than 40 times a day for the past week, i will be INSISTING on lotion with tissue at home from now on. sam's club savings be damned. this hideous chapping on my nostrils is just not worth it.

Re: stupid cold and cheap tissue

  • It's definitely worth the extra 50 cents. Have you tried the ones with Vicks in them? Those are amazing too! I'm so over this whole cold thing. It's horrible this year.

    Have you tried a neti pot? Or the Neilmed sinus rinse?

  • i use the nelimed sinus rinse which gives relief from the pressure but my nose is running like a faucet so i still have to blow it constantly.
  • Yeah I'm in the same boat but at least it gets rid of that horrible pressure and you can breath out of both nostrils after.

    Is it watery snot?  Could it be allergies?  Allergies = clear watery snot.

    Cold = thicker white-ish/yellow-ish snot.

    Either way I hope your sniffer feels better soon!  :-)

    so funny kiz.... actually, i think it's both. i have been off my allergy meds for about 3 weeks but i started taking them today again. supposedly, i'm only allergic to mold and dust but i have a feeling something else may have reared it's ugly head in the allergy camp.

    i hope to feel better in a few days.

  • KIz I love your explaination of the two.  It made me giggle.

    I stopped my allergy shots about 2.5 months ago when I was sick with the flu.  I couldn't get them for almost 6 weeks and by then I needed to restart the whole process.  I can't decide if I should restart them or take my chances this summer and see how it goes.  The sinus rinsing has helped lots, but I with you on the lotioned tissues.  The other ones just don't cut it.  And the papery ones from work are worse.

  • Joe insisted on buying the cheap tissue last time, and after he opened and went through one box, he said never again. I said "told you so."
