rubber glove smell..

I wear gloves all day long, and always have the rubber glove smell.  I wash my hands with scented soap (grapefruit) it takes the smell away for alittle bit but then that rubber smell comes back.  Anyone know how to get rid of this?

Re: rubber glove smell..

  • Can you wear some kind of liner (cotton, maybe?) under the glove?  I don't wear rubber gloves, but I do wear latex and nitrile gloves at work and we have several pairs of cotton liners for them, so I know they exist and I think it might help keep the smell off of your hands.

As for getting rid of it, I've found that lemon-scented soaps work best on smells that are hard to get rid of - I have some hand soap that's specifically for 'tough kitchen smells' and it works on pretty much every set-in stink.

  • i've heard that lemon juice takes garlic and onion smells off your hands after cooking with them (i don't cook, so i don't know!), so i would imagine it could do something for this smell, too...?
