Fit Chicks (or others who workout)
I love P90X, but I'm having a hard time sticking to it because of how long it takes at night. I'm trying to think of alternate workout routines that may fit into my schedule easier.
What is your current workout routine? What do you do and when (days, time of day, etc) do you do it??
Re: Fit Chicks (or others who workout)
I'm in the middle of doing 30 Day Shred...I know it gets mixed reviews, but I'm loving that it's only about 20 minutes, so I've actually been able to do it every day for the past 16 days now...I'm on level 3 now and the workouts are seriously challenging for me, which is nice...I feel like I'm getting a real workout, even in such a short period of time...I have a weird work schedule, so I like that I can always find a time to fit it in and I also like that there is a set goal of 30 days...
I need to figure out what to do on day 31 (besides admiring how shredded I'll undoubtedly be
)...
Before starting that, I did a random combo of yoga DVDs, The Firm DVDs and some pilates...but I am wondering how I will go back to dedicating 45-60 minutes to these workouts after this! I also try to walk whenever I can.
Oh man, this is what I wrestle with! I refuse to get up in the mornings to work out. I'm not a morning person - ask my husband. I don't do anything before coffee. So I only fit in afternoon workouts if I get home at a good time and if the weather is cooperative. My husband picks up Nolan from daycare, but if they get home before me I feel so torn between wanting to workout and wanting to spend time with Nolan. Especially since I haven't seen him since 7 that morning. Once the weather gets nice and stays nice, I'll be able to go for runs with Nolan. I probably only work out 3 times a week right now.
I used to do 30DS, but now that Nolan is crawling all over the place and getting into everything it makes it hard to put on a video and do that. If I do a video, it's usually during nap time on the weekends.
Such a struggle!
Before I got pregnant, I was a big fan of The Firm cardio weight program, which I slightly modified to fit my time/motivation. I HATED the Cardio Party segment (really? Who ever voluntarily attended something referred to as a Cardio Party?!), so I would go out for runs on the days it was scheduled. I was super religious about it before my wedding, and definitely saw results. I kept with it over the next two years on and off, and it always worked well.
Now I've shifted to the Long & Lean Prenatal workout, and I adore it! I usually shoot for 4-5 days a week of it, although now that it's nice out and there's more daylight, I usually alternate it with walking and jogging depending on how my knees are doing.
I find it's always the most difficult getting into a routine (or getting back into a routine after falling off the wagon), but once I get 10 days or so into it, I'm really motivated. Like Annie, I can't get up in the AM to work out (not for lack of trying), so I'm an evening/afternoon exersizer.
