Washing clothes...pls help!

So...I am having an issue with my clothes and I'm hoping someone can help.  I wash most of my clothes on either delicate or hand wash cycle in my front load washer, but they still come out developing the little "balls".  I'm not really sure what to call them, but my clothes looking like they're worn out.  I've tried switching detergent and I don't dry them...I hang them all up.  Does anyone have any suggestions on what is causing this, or what I can do to fix it?

Zip zippers, fasten hooks, close velcro items.  You can also turn items inside out.  But really, it just depends on the fabric.  Nicer quality clothes shouldn't pill so quickly, cheaper stuff like Old Navy, Target, Kohl's generally will show wear and tear more quickly.

    This exactly!

  • I'm not sure how to resolve the issues of the "balls" forming but I was watching HGTV or DIY network and one way you can get rid of them is to use a regular shaving razor and just shave them off. I've tossed so much clothes in the past before I saw this little hint. Also, you can try using one of the mesh bags for the delicates and maybe turning the them inside out so that they don't rub against other clothes? Best of luck, if you find something that works please let me know!

That's what my mom taught me to do and it seems to work. I use that or a zip pillow case (which ever is closer at the time)
