Do you ever...

want to POAS just to do it?  Rich and I were at Wally World on Sunday and I wanted to buy a pregnancy test just to take the test.  I know I'm not preggers but I still just wanted to do it.

Am I the only insane one that feels the urge to POAS just because?

No, I totally had that!  The first couple months we were TTC, I POAS even though I was sure I wasn't pg, just to try it out.  MH laughed at me when I got my period the next day.

  • I always want to POAS, but because we're TTC, I only do it at times when I think I'm likely to get a true result, and buying them all the time is annoying and expensive.
    Me: 26 DH: 32
    TTC since 08/2010
Anovulatory since at least 12/2010 (probably longer, unDx)
    Dx PCOS 3/2012
    SA 5/25/12--normal
    June 2012--50mg clomid+TI--BFN
    July 2012--50mg clomid+Ovidrel+TI--BFN, lining at 5mm
    August 2012--5mg femara+Ovidrel+TI
  • I always want to POAS the week before I get my period because sometimes it's hard to differentiate between pregnancy symptoms and PMS for me lol - I have convinced myself I am pregnant before and then my period was late cuz I was stressed which made me even more convinced I was pregnant lol

Dats, I learned about the internet cheapies from the GP board, but they just call them ICs.  I bought 25 for about $4 from Amazon, and they work perfectly fine.  Because they're so cheap, I didn't feel bad about wasting a few while we were on the trip, to help it sink in for MH.  The brand I bought is Wondfo.

  • Yeah, I'm the complete opposite. I NEVER want to POAS. Even when my period is late and I'm freaking out a little, I push it off. Ignorance is bliss and all that. If I were TTC, I imagine it would be a different story. And H would get mad at all the tests I bought.

Had a dream I was queen.
    Woke up. Still queen.
  • I think i'm starting to get to the point where I don't enjoy peeing unless it's on a stick of some sort.  Indifferent

BUT, we're TTC, and I'm charting and all that jazz, so I'm POAS for ovulation and pregger tests.

  • I used to POAS all the time before I realized my period only came every 52 days, not 26.  Then I would forget when I last had it, freak out and POAS.  But I don't do it for the hell of it, waste of $$
  • QOA I am the same way. I have to convince myself to POAS even when I probably should be. Infact I probably should do this now but I have to talk myself into. its really bad I don't know what my problem is.

  • Am I the only one that read this post and had absolutely no idea what it was about until I got to the second line?

I have absolutely zero recognition of pregnancy-related abbreviations. Sorry in advance mamas to be, you might have to spell it out for me!

I only knew the acronym cuz we had a post about it a while back.  Everytime I see POAs I think Power of Attorneys.  I must work too much...

  • Yes, I did just this past weekend, eventhough I know i'm not KU. And H saw it in the trash and said I see you POAS......and? I said yea don't you think I would have told you if it was good news instead of laying here in bed watching tv! Very snappy because I was mad it was negative. lol

Me too, Brew!  And I'm not even in an industry where I would commonly see/use that term. :-)

QOA - I'm with you.  Ignorance is bliss.
