How is everyone today?
I went to the dentist (for the first time since before the wedding, bad raynes) and yay no cavities! I've apparently got a few places that are decalcified a bit, so I need to keep on top of my flossing, but I've been doing well with that lately, so I'm happy.
We got our first CSA box yesterday (organic fruits and veggies that you basically pay for in advance to help the farmers fund their season) and the only things in there I don't normally cook with (at this time of year at least) are zucchini and potatoes. What should I do with the zucchini? Normally I BBQ it in the summer. I guess I could do that....

We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?

Re: Goooood morning!
Too funny raynes, I just placed my first order for our CSA yesterday... though it wont be coming until 4/19 since I used a groupon
A fav dish we make with zucchini is a veggie melt.... normally just take zucchini, yellow squash, onion, pepper, spinach (basically any veggies we have on hand), then add some diced tomatoes with just a little bit of the juice, then melt cheddar cheese (or any cheese - mozz, feta, etc) on top. We make enough that we can have a meal, but you could def do it as a side dish... cheesy veggie goodness....
Today is our 5 year date-iversary. Nothing big going on... leaving early for a consultation with the podiatrist about potential foot surgery and then going to my first acupuncture appt.

The only thing I do with zucchini is make bread out of it.
Morning, all. Today's slightly better in terms of weather, but I'm still kind of brooding over being stuck here. I'm watching the government shutdown news and while it would suck in one sense, I could use a break. But overall, I hope it doesn't happen.
Tonight we're heading to the gym and having more of H's excellent pasta sauce for dinner. Going to do my best to get to bed early, too.
Morning girls!
I'm jealous of your CSAs... we don't get to do one this year since we're moving. Sad! Raynes, for the zucc, I love this dish! (Although I did just grill some zucc last night and it was delicious, so you could always just do that too!)
Happy date-iversary, E! And ouch about foot surgery - hope everything's okay!
Not much going on for me today... working, teaching, procrastinating. The usual.
Good morning, ladies
I steam zucchini, and often mix it in with rice or quinoa. It doesn't need much steaming, though - don't make it mushy.
Have a great day, everyone!
Good morning!
I am so sleepy today. I pray I make it all day at work without falling out of my chair. I am glad we don't have anything to do tonight.
Good Morning! Last night we spent 4 hours painting, taping, and painting again. We are hoping the guest room will be done by the weekend. Someone was supposed to come out and give us a quote for tree trimming (they no-showed on Monday). Well, they no-showed again yesterday. Guess who is getting a negative review online and possibly a nasty message today?
We have our second softball game tonight....we get crushed last game, so here's hoping we do a little better this time around.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
Morning ladies.
First, I feel like a dork. I don't know what CSA means.
Lastnight was quite uneventful. Same old, laundry, dishes, baths for the boys, and then sleep for mama.
Tonight, I am having dinner out with some old coworkers, and I am very much looking foward to it. We have been trying to get together for a few months now, and so far it is still on. Otherwise, it is work work work.
Have a great day ladies.
Don't worry....neither do I.
ditto. I don't even know if they have that here?
anyway. good morning! I am almost caught up on Bad Girls Club episodes... trash, I know, but SO funny.
I skipped the gym last night to work on my essay (rough draft was due Sunday, whoops) but I ended up catching up on TV instead. my essay is on the theme of love throughout A Midsummer Night's Dream, which should be easy enough to find support for, but it's just such a vague topic, I don't know where to start. any suggestions?
tomorrow is CD10, which will begin our every other day yoga romp until CD20. I'm not gunna lie, I'm pretty excited.

Hello Ladies,
Raynes, if you ever need another idea for zucchini one of the simplest ones I know is cutting it into strips dipping it into egg then rolling it on a plate of bread crumbs. Bake them like that and you've got breaded zucchini sticks. I often put some Parmesan and Italian seasoning into the bread crumb mix.
Now I want some zucchini.
Today should be good, I'm going to the library with the kids, there is a baby story time that I take the girl to. (the kiddos I nanny) Besides that I really don't have much planned for today. I may look into massage therapists in the area because I could seriously use some work on my back.
@ raynes - Holy cow you get your CSA early. I like to slice and saute the zucchini in olive oil with a little oregano. Or you could do these.
There was a fire in the office building next door last night and now it stinks in here. Management is sending an air purification company over this afternoon to assess and deal with it. Other than that, nothing much interesting going on here.

Morning Pretties!
First:
Ladies with CSA's yum! My parents do this, we're planting out garden this year so hopefully we wont need ours this year.
E- hope everything's OK
Today C comes over at 4pm, I'm really excited. I hope she likes us. We're not sure when we'll be able to have her moved in, I'm hoping this weekend. I feel like it's a first date and I'm all nervous and excited. I'm going to be keeping myself busy by doing my portfolio and watching bad movies with my sister. Speaking of bad movies, don't ever go see Beastly, it was terrible!
For those who asked, CSA stands for community supported agriculture. Usually you sign up and pay a one time fee and then get boxes of produce each week for a certain number of weeks. The idea is that you support local farmers and get locally grown (usually organic) produce and it can be a cheaper way to do it since you pay up front. For more info: http://www.localharvest.org/csa/
MO, I'm so excited for you guys. I'm sure it will go swimingly. And definitely let us know.
Erinn, good luck with the dr!
Today should be a fairly uneventful day. I have a bunch to get through at work, but I'm meeting a former coworker for lunch, and I'm super excited to catch up. Now if only the weather would change--all this dreary weather is definitely taking a toll on my mood. Where is the sun?
For those that didn't know, CSA = Community Supported Agriculture.
Basically you buy a share in a farm and get produce in return. You for your share at the beginning of the growing season to help the farmer with the capital they need to get going. Then, you get a box of produce each week (or however often you want). Generally it's all organic.
reba, this is the "spring share" and isn't much actual local stuff. I bought 5 every-other-week deliveries, and will probably specify "local" if I do a summer one too. Or, I might just make myself go to the farmers market. I do, however, LOVE the eggs I got too. $5 for x-large free range eggs? Woo yes!
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
Ha, Tobi beat me to it.
Good luck MO!

Rayne779, and other Philly, NJ, Delaware (maybe Mandee.. not sure) ladies...
Check out Suburban Organics... its a produce delivery company that is basically a larger CSA for our region. Everything is organic and most products are local (more so come summer season).... "Little Boxes" (perfect for two ppl) are only $25 and "Small" is $39... and you get a bunch of good stuff....
http://suburbanorganics.com//index.php
(I can send you an invite if you send me your email.... if you refer me I get $10 off, not trying to solicit, but just saying)

Good morning!
Raynes - zucchini boats! with or without meat, they're my favorite.
I'm buying a ticket to Denver right now to surprise my best friend at her baby shower. I will be on the ground less than 36 hours, but I'm glad DH thought it was a good idea for me to go!
Good Morning.
I am late to the game but I am so swamped at work since I was out sick yesterday. I am so sick of people coming in to work when they are sick and passing it onto me.
Last night, DH and I took Bud for a walk. The weather was so nice and I am so glad the snow is almost gone. Hopefully we can get some yard work started soon. We didn't get any fall clean up done since it snowed a few days after we moved in. Needless to say we will be outside a lot!
Have a great day ladies!
I wish you were on the ground longer, I'd love to have set up a GTG with you!
Evening ladies!
Today was fine, although I just got a call from a coworker that what and who I am teaching with next year may be entirely changing. This is not necessarily a bad thing and actually could be really good, but the coworker didn't have a lot of details (she just kept saying "yeah, we talked about that at the meeting. They said it would work out, so I'm sure it is fine"--and the "they" isn't always super reliable) so I am left with lots of questions and no way to get the answers until next week...grrr.
I am off tomorrow for a conference in Providence for three days. I am going with three of my closest friends on our faculty, so it should be a blast...and maybe they can answer some of my questions for me...But I won't be around all weekend, so have a great end of the week all!

Today was a very busy day at work. Was able to make quite a few interventions today that were beneficial for my patients.
I've decided to take today off the gym and come home and have DH make grilled cheese and soup. It's rainy and cold and CD1 so it's just what I need.
