Do you know any children named Elizabeth?

I really like this name and it's #15 in MI according to the SS list, but I don't personally know anyone with this name under the age of 30.  Is it really that popular?  Do you know any girls with this name?  Most of the little girls I know have trendy type names (Sophia, Madelyn, Avery).

Re: Do you know any children named Elizabeth?

  • I have a coworker who has a 10 year old daughter named Elizabeth.  That's the only child that I know.  I'm surprised that it's #15.

I really like the name, myself.

  • I dont know any young Elizabeths.  I think it's a great name!

  • My step daughters named is Elizabeth but she is named after hubby's sister who lives in Germany.

  • I have a (4th) cousin named Elizabeth.  She's around 11 or so.

As far as I know they've never shortened her name.   I usually only see them once a year.

My middle name is Elizabeth, and I love the name.  My mom, on rare occasion, has called me Elizabeth or Liz.

  • I went to school with a few. My best friend's name is Lizabeth and a FB friend just named her daughter that as well.
  • Nope!

You know what other name I haven't heard in awhile?  Irene.  I like it.  It's fresh.  maybe because it isn't so common anymore...

Yeah, we're really into uncommon, but normal girl names.  The exception is Elizabeth, but I haven't seen any children named this or any parents considering this name (even though I'm sure there are quite a few out there, I just don't know them).

  • I would have never guessed in a million years that Elizabeth was in the top 20. I look at those list every year and never even noticed that. I haven't seen that name for a baby.

When looking at kids items with names on it (cups, pencils, etc.), sometimes I wonder what lists these companies are using. I can't imagine there are many kids by some of these names like Beverly, etc.  When we were in TX, we were trying to find something for Amelia (Mia) and didn't find anything until the very end. Mia is now #10 for baby names.

  • I love the name, one of my BFF's is Elizabeth (called Liz).

I only know 1 girl named Elizabeth, a good friend's niece and she's about 11.

Are you looking for suggestions?  Because I've got a couple of good ones for you!  They're uncommon, but normal.  And they start with "E" like Elizabeth.

I imagine you have people throwing names at you left and right, so if you're tired of it, you can ignore me.  I promise I won't be offended.  Stick out tongue

  • Nope, I don't know an Elizabeth under the age of 25.

Well, we have a pretty good girl list right now, and I have my #1 pick (it's actually not Elizabeth right now) and DH has his #1 pick, but if you want to share, feel free!  The only person who really suggests names is my mom, and they're always totally off the wall.  LOL.

I suggest Evelyn (Evie?) and Elaina.

  • I think Elizabeth is more classic as opposed to trendy.  Either way, its a very common name.  I don't know any Elizabeth's under 18, but I know a bunch that are my age.  Why don't you try typing Elizabeth into www.nymbler.com and see what it comes up with?

I have an aunt name Beverly, that is why that name came to mind.

I like Elizabeth but didn't consider it because it was part of my middle name, which I use included in my full name ( ha ha, does that make sense) and my sister used it as a middle name.

ha ha...no...my mom always intended to call me by first and middle name, but rather than just going ahead and giving me that name for my full name, she made it first and middle name.

My sister used it for one of her kids' middle name. Sorry for the confusion on that part.

LOL!  I need to get more than 6 hours of sleep per night apparently...  Embarrassed

  • I don't know anyone under 29 named Elizabeth. But I also don't know a lot of people under 12.

  • I know at least one, but she's a baby & lives in Oklahoma.  I know a few others who are in their late 20s or early 30s.  Not many in the middle, and of all 100+ students I work with, I don't think a single one has that name.
  • My niece is Elizabeth, she's 3, lives in Minnesota. She goes by Izzy, and she's the cutest thing ever!   Love the name, go for it!  :)
