Has anyone used Nair? I used it back when I was 14 and I don't remember it being that effective. But I'm willing to try it again. I want something for the bikini line that's not going to give me razor burn. Does it work?
Re: Nair?
ditto! i still remember how bad my legs stung when i tried it in 8th grade. OUCH!!!
You're probably better off looking at products that are designed to be applied prior to shaving. I have used one from slumber parties and it works very well, no irritation, fittingly it's called coochy (is that allowed on the board? I guess we'll find out). Im sure you can find products like this elsewhere, this just happens to be the product I'm familiar with. You can also use it on your legs, underarms, etc. It really gives you a closer shave with no razor burn. But I agree with the pp's, I would not use nair there...nothing good could come from that.
I remember it burning and smelling to high heavens.
Whatever you do, do NOT try the at home wax strips. That ended badly . . . There's a funny story on the net about a woman who tried to use them and ended up stuck to the bottom of the tub. Mine wasn't that bad, but it definitely did NOT work and was painful.
I second the Coochy Cream or a pro wax.
ditto
Thanks, ladies. I was hoping Nair had come a long way since I first tried it, but it doesn't sound like it. Oh and I tried the home waxing strips back in the day and that was a nightmare. I didn't get stuck to the bottom of the tub, but the wax stuck on me for hours as I tried everything to get it off. Even with waxing, I get the red bumps so I guess I'll explore this Coochy you've talked about. I can't believe it's called Coochy.
I purchased the Coochy cream at a toy party, but was recently looking for it and it is sold on Amazon.

It can also be used as a conditioner for your hair. LOL! You might try shaving with a good conditioner instead of shaving cream first and see if that helps. I too get the bumps from shaving and waxing. And I feel like my skin weeps after waxing.
okay, my 13 year old boy sense of humor cannot resist laughing at this. heh heh.
Try using TendSkin every day. They sell it at Sephora and it really helps with ingrown hairs & red bumps/irritation from shaving.
I use it after i use the home waxing kits (when i'm going on vacation) on my bikini line and i have no irritation whatsoever. I also use it after i shave the bikini area, too.
