So, all that talk about deployment?
Nope. Not gonna happen. Joe's coming home - they don't need his team anymore. He's super upset about it.
I, however, am ecstatic. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high because he might get put on another team...but at least, for the time being, he'll be on this side of the world.
Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers during the last few weeks ladies. It's meant a lot.

Re: What a whirlwind.
WAHOOOOOO!!!! Ok, so I know Joe is disappointed but I'm so happy he'll be here for awhile. Does this mean the move to Colorado is back on or was it ever off? I guess I just assumed you wouldn't move until he came home from deployment but since he's not deploying will you move there now?
Don't you just love the military? I know you are used to some of it with your dad but I've learned a whole lot from my BIL and how silly it is to move or request where to go. It's like you can request but it won't happen. It's stupid.

I'm so happy that Joe isn't going!
omg omg omg omg!!!!
So excited for you!!!!!
This!! That is fantastic for you and JJ!!!
I am SO relieved and SO glad he's coming home. Even if it's just temporary, to have him back over here is just amazing. You take for granted the little things [phone calls especially] when your H leaves. I did, at least. :P
JJ and I were going to move to Colorado after the holidays - if this deployment had stuck, H wouldn't have been back until around that time anyway - but now, I'm not sure. I'm going to wait a few more weeks to see if he gets pulled onto another team...for now, the game plan is to hang tight, act like he'll be deploying within the next few weeks, and if he's still here, we'll make definite moving plans. He's a military man through and through, so he wants to deploy, and chances are decent some other team will pick him up. We'll see though.
For now, we're making plans for him to take leave in May and come back here for awhile. He'll get to see JJ for the first time since November...I can't wait for that reunion.
