For about a year now, I've been trying to figure out what to hang on the walls in our main bathroom. There is one painting over the toilet now. And then there's one long wall that needs something. I previously had a couple of shelves on this wall, but I took them down when we painted last year and haven't put them back up.
I saw some decorative hooks at Anthropologie in Chicago recently, and thought that might be a neat way to decorate. I could hang maybe five of them, and then hange decorative things from them (not towels) like mirrors, little paintings, letters, what have you. Does this seem like a neat idea, or does it sound dumb? I've never seen anything like this, but it seems like a good idea in my head. ![]()
Then, if it's a good idea, do you have any idea where I can find hooks at an affordable price. The ones at Anthropologie are $12-18 each, and if I want five...
I've already looked at Hobby Lobby, and they didn't have anything that I liked. Here's my inspiration:
Re: Home decor question
I think it's a super cute idea! I had 3 tin flower hooks (similar to #1 but more 3D) with milk crate bottles that hung from them (got them from pottery barn kids a loooong time ago) in our bathroom years ago. I put a dried flower stem in each of them.
Maybe look at Pier 1? Or Etsy!
Love the hooks! Very cute idea.
I think World Market has something like this. I know they carry cabinet hardware and in the past i have bought decorative hooks there. Just not sure what they have right now.
What about IKEA for the hooks?? If you are going, I need you to pick something up for me though as compensation for my good idea :-).
Also, I have this pinned on pinterest. It is a collage of embroidery hoops with different fabrics. Love it and want to try it at some point. Seems inexpensive too.
Great ideas! Thanks everyone! I'll definitely look into these.
Tigers, we're actually considering making an Ikea run soon. I'll let you know if it happens.
TheWop, by the way, yesterday when I was at Hobby Lobby, I saw a cute painting of a baby elephant. I thought of you and your nursery.
I would so appreciate it! It is just hard to schedule one of those trips when we are in Detroit because it is so time consuming to go through there. I really only need to get one or two things!
Me too! We need one here, Chicago and Detroit are too far!
Thanks for the heads up! I have to go there anyway to checkout frames, so I'll look for it.
Totally agree!
